Alexander Stetsenko » MySQL: how to ignore checking of foreign key constraints for InnoDB tables

http://www.stetsenko.net/2008/10/mysql-how-to-ignore-checking-of-foreign-key-constraints-for-innodb-tables/

Saved by uncleflo on February 16th, 2015.

There is a session variable FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS which allows to ignore checking of foreign key constraints for InnoDB tables. If set to 1 (the default), foreign constraints are checked. If set to 0, they are ignored. Setting FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS to 0 also affects data definition statements like DROP TABLE which drops tables that have foreign keys that are referred to by other tables. Disabling foreign key checking can be useful for reloading InnoDB tables in an order different from that required by their parent/child relationships.

All Things: OwnCloud - Run your Own DropBox!

http://knowitallthings.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/owncloud-run-your-own-dropbox.html

I've been looking for a while for a solution to the limited amount of storage offered by the big providers of online synchronized storage space like Google Drive, Sky Drive, DropBox and Box.net. I use a couple of these services now, and it's nice to know that some of my stuff is backed up in "the cloud", but honestly, I just don't trust my really important stuff to be protected by these guys. Beyond my trust issues, there is also an issue of not having enough space to sync more than a few gigabytes worth of data without getting into the 'pay as you go' type plans. In this economy, money is tight all around, and I just don't want to spend more money on something I could potentially do myself.
