Putting Raspberry Pi boards into space is nothing new, but the method of achieving orbit often differs. While the Astro Pi computers headed for the final frontier onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, there are some decidedly lower-tech approaches including, as detailed on the Tindie blog, this $45 RP2040 flight computer from Finnish designer Dan Invents. Combining the RP2040 controller with an altimeter, accelerometer, temperature sensor, and enough juice to power two servo motors (for parachute deployment on the way down), the Rockit (rocket operation computing kit) weighs just 0.18oz (5g) and measures 1.73 x 0.9 x 0.35 inches (44 x 22 x 9 mm). It comes with an open-source firmware pre-installed, and can be tinkered with and updated over micro USB. There's a 16-position rotary switch for adjusting parameters such as start and end positions for the servos, and also a buzzer, so you can more easily find your rocket after a successful landing. Compared to the 2MHz Apollo guidance computer that deposited Neil Armstrong on the Moon, the RP2040 is a powerhouse, and should be more than capable of altitude-based parachute opening and logging flight data from the sensors to a micro SD card. The kit, which costs $44.99, comes with just the board and its pin headers - you need to supply your own battery, servos, cabling, micro SD card and space suit.

Technical Analysis for Traders. The trader extension is a free open source stock library based on TA-Lib. It's dedicated to trading software developers requiring to perform technical analysis of financial market data. Alongside many indicators like ADX, MACD, RSI, Stochastic, TRIX the candlestick pattern recognition and several vector arithmetic and algebraic functions are present. Calculations can be done in two modes - TA-Lib and Metastock. Changing it using trader_set_compat() will affect the way some trader functions work. Some trader functions provide different results depending of the "starting point" of the data being involved. This is often referred as a function having memories. An example of such function is the Exponential Moving Average. It is possible to control the unstable period (the amount of data to strip off) using trader_set_unstable_period() function. Ever wondered which program has a particular file or directory open? Now you can find out. Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded. The Process Explorer display consists of two sub-windows. The top window always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, whereas the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode that Process Explorer is in: if it is in handle mode you'll see the handles that the process selected in the top window has opened; if Process Explorer is in DLL mode you'll see the DLLs and memory-mapped files that the process has loaded. Process Explorer also has a powerful search capability that will quickly show you which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded. The OpenAPI Specification (OAS) defines a standard, language-agnostic interface to RESTful APIs which allows both humans and computers to discover and understand the capabilities of the service without access to source code, documentation, or through network traffic inspection. When properly defined, a consumer can understand and interact with the remote service with a minimal amount of implementation logic. An OpenAPI definition can then be used by documentation generation tools to display the API, code generation tools to generate servers and clients in various programming languages, testing tools, and many other use cases.

This is a free-to-use, open-access plan for the organisation, design and construction of self-build homes. If you have ideas for things to add to the plan, you can either edit the plan and add them yourself, or submit a comment and we will add them for you. There are a number of delivery routes for self-build homes: It may not be clear which route should be followed until initial assessments have been carried out, a plot located and a brief prepared. See: Develop a delivery strategy for more information. It is also possible to work with other organisations such as social landlords, developers, or community groups to develop a self-build home, however, these projects are likely to follow a plan imposed by the lead organisation and so they are not covered here, although many of the project stages will be similar. Working with a developer is sometimes called ‘custom build’ rather than ‘self build’.

I'd like to for once leave SELinux running on a server for the alleged increased security. I usually disable SELinux to get anything to work. How do I tell SELinux to allow MySQL connections? The most I've found in the documentation is this line from mysql.com: If you are running under Linux and Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) is enabled, make sure you have disabled SELinux protection for the mysqld process.

Following, you can find a description of Amazon Aurora Global Database. Each Aurora global database spans multiple AWS Regions, enabling low latency global reads and disaster recovery from region-wide outages. An Aurora global database consists of one primary AWS Region where your data is mastered, and one read-only, secondary AWS Region. Aurora replicates data to the secondary AWS Region with typical latency of under a second. You issue write operations directly to the primary DB instance in the primary AWS Region. An Aurora global database uses dedicated infrastructure to replicate your data, leaving database resources available entirely to serve application workloads. Applications with a worldwide footprint can use reader instances in the secondary AWS Region for low latency reads. In the unlikely event your database becomes degraded or isolated in an AWS region, you can promote the secondary AWS Region to take full read-write workloads in under a minute.

AWS - How to redirect database traffic to a new master on RDS after promoting a read replica? - Server Fault

A lot of RDS's documentation about read replicas contains a magical step along the lines of "direct database traffic to the new master." For instance, their instructions on implementing failure recovery say: This talk about directing traffic glosses over what is actually a complicated step, though. If I were using EC2 instances to host my database, I could give them elastic IPs, use the public DNS address of the instance to address it (which resolves to its private IP from inside AWS), and then instantly swap my entire stack to the read replica by reassigning the elastic IP (and thus simultaneously reassigning the public DNS). I used this method happily back in the days when RDS was considered straightforwardly inferior to rolling your own database instance on EC2 by many DBAs. RDS instances still cannot have elastic IPs, though, so I cannot use this particular trick to magically redirect all my database traffic to a new instance when using RDS.

With microcontrollers and other Integrated Circuit (IC)’s getting smaller and smaller Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design gets more and more difficult. 2 layer PCB design is getting common for small companies and hobbyists but 4 layer or more is a bit daring for those used to 2 layers. When designing a circuit with a Ball Grid Array (BGA) that has 100 or more pins a 4 layer circuit board is necessary, but more layers can make designing easier. With prices of 4 layer boards getting lower it can be a better idea to route a board thats hard to do in 2 layers in 4 layers as it can save a lot of time. This document will explain the basics of routing PCBs with 4 or more layers with Cadsoft Eagle.
