I am an addicted kiter, helicopter and jet pilot who seeks the wind, waves, METARs and powder snow almost constantly. Since programming is my passion, I coded Windyty.com in 2014 as my pet project. The original version was highly inspired by the products from the Swiss company Meteoblue and other project called "Earth", that displayed animated wind particles on the globe. I have completely rewrote open source codes of Earth and also made an agreement with Meteoblue to use some of their products that time. And thus Windyty was born (renamed to Windy a few years later). My goal is to keep Windy small and fast to be accessible in the most remote locations.

HAProxy is a free, very fast and reliable solution offering high availability, load balancing, and proxying for TCP and HTTP-based applications. It is particularly suited for very high traffic web sites and powers quite a number of the world's most visited ones. Over the years it has become the de-facto standard opensource load balancer, is now shipped with most mainstream Linux distributions, and is often deployed by default in cloud platforms. Since it does not advertise itself, we only know it's used when the admins report it :-) Its mode of operation makes its integration into existing architectures very easy and riskless, while still offering the possibility not to expose fragile web servers to the net. Each version brought its set of features on top of the previous one. Upwards compatibility is a very important aspect of HAProxy, and even version 1.5 is able to run with configurations made for version 1.0 13 years before. This is a library for encrypting data with a key or password in PHP. It requires PHP 5.4 or newer. The current version is v2.0.0, which is expected to remain stable and supported by its authors with security and bugfixes until at least January 1st, 2019. The library is a joint effort between Taylor Hornby and Scott Arciszewski as well as numerous open-source contributors. What separates this library from other PHP encryption libraries is, firstly, that it is secure. The authors used to encounter insecure PHP encryption code on a daily basis, so they created this library to bring more security to the ecosystem. Secondly, this library is "difficult to misuse." Like libsodium, its API is designed to be easy to use in a secure way and hard to use in an insecure way.
