Backend web development is the part of web development that deals with the server-side of a web application. This includes creating and managing the server-side logic, connecting the application to a database, creating server-side APIs, handling user authentication and authorization, and processing and responding to user requests. It often involves the use of programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, JavaScript (Node.js), and .NET languages. A backend developer is responsible for the development of server-side components of a web application i.e. working with databases, handling requests, creating server-side APIs that can be consumed by frontend developers to retrieve and manipulate data, ensuring the scalability of the systems i.e. making sure that the backend can handle a high volume of traffic and is performant, integrating external services like payment gateways, message queues, cloud services, etc.

If you've ever wished that the screen on your Android phone or tablet stayed on longer before going to sleep, you're not alone. Luckily, this can easily be adjusted in the settings with just a few taps. Not only that, you can prevent your Android device from sleeping while it's charging, too. The term 'screen timeout' refers to the time it takes for your smartphone or tablet to go to sleep (the screen turns off) after you've stopped interacting with it. The average screen timeout sits around 30 seconds to one minute, depending on your device. For many users, this is acceptable, but there are times that you might wish that your phone didn't go to sleep so quickly. Maybe you're looking at a recipe on your tablet in the kitchen, your hands are covered in food, and you need to get to the next step. Maybe you're reading a walkthrough for a video game and just want to glance over to see what to do next without pausing. Here's how you get your screen to stay on longer.

“Terms of Service; Didn't Read” (short: ToS;DR) is a young project started in June 2012 to help fix the “biggest lie on the web”: almost no one really reads the terms of service we agree to all the time. Background. The rough idea behind ToS;DR emerged during the 2011 Chaos Communication Camp near Berlin, with people from Unhosted a movement to create web apps that give users control over their valuable user data and privacy. In the summer of 2012, Hugo Roy (@hugoroyd) started the legal analysis and brought the project to life. Since then, more people have joined the team and have contributed through the reviewer community. Ultimately, all the work is transparent and the discussions happen in public. Our work is funded by non-profits organisations and individual donations and gets released as free software and open data. Please bear in mind that the project is still in the early phase and that most data is subject to important changes. More information about our classification. What does “ToS;DR” mean? the name is inspired by internet acronym TL;DR which stands for "Too Long; Didn't Read" and is often used on blogs and emails when a block of text is just really long and that people are too lazy to read the whole stuff. It was intended more as a code name than as a real name. But it seems that people like it (do you?)

I built a simple app with 10 different JavaScript frameworks... Learn the pros and cons of each JS framework before building your next app. Notably, Angular didn't really stand out here, and I want to explain why. It is not geared towards simplicity for singular developers. It is engineered to be maintainable in large and complex projects, and to optimize the hell out of the app. When it's all said and done, Angular is a great framework for large apps with multiple developers working on it due to it's structured layout and intentionally opinionated setup. I started using Svelte the other night and was blown away with how lightweight and easy it was. I've always loved Vue and Svelte feels like an even more lightweight version of Vue.

The aim of the project is to create an easy to use, lightweight, cross-browser, general purpose 3D library. The current builds only include a WebGL renderer but WebGPU (experimental), SVG and CSS3D renderers are also available in the examples. The recommended format for importing and exporting assets is glTF (GL Transmission Format). Because glTF is focused on runtime asset delivery, it is compact to transmit and fast to load. three.js provides loaders for many other popular formats like FBX, Collada or OBJ as well. Nevertheless, you should always try to establish a glTF based workflow in your projects first. For more information, see loading 3D models.

Porn is a big industry. There aren't many sites on the Internet that can rival the traffic of its biggest players. And juggling this immense traffic is tough. To make things even harder, much of the content served from porn sites is made up of low latency live streams rather than simple static video content. But for all of the challenges involved, rarely have I read about the developers who take them on. So I decided to write about my own experience on the job. And juggling this immense traffic is tough. This page describes a few popular React toolchains which help with tasks. The toolchains recommended on this page don’t require configuration to get started. If you don’t experience the problems described above or don’t feel comfortable using JavaScript tools yet, consider adding React as a plain <script> tag on an HTML page, optionally with JSX. This is also the easiest way to integrate React into an existing website. You can always add a larger toolchain if you find it helpful! Create React App is a comfortable environment for learning React, and is the best way to start building a new single-page application in React.

Bank Accounts, Company Formations, Tax Planning, Residency Solutions, and more. I have been googeling lot of information about offshore or low-tax solutions and I found couple of useful info, but I still can't create the ideal structure, I think I am still missing some info, so I decided to ask here for an advice. I will describe my situation. I am doing turnkey software products. It can be sold by different ways. I can always sell it to my customers as a Software License (Intellectual Property), or I can invoice and sell it as turnkey programming hours, or I can sell it as ready-made product. It depends what's better for me, my customers are tolerant to me we have very close relationships and I found that some countries have tax-friendly strategies for Intellectual Properties for example, so that's why I am mentioning this. All my activities are online and remote, I also travel a lot. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on mood. I have customers mostly from EU (private persons) and I am also EU citizen with EU personal tax domicile.

Welcome to the PowerShell GitHub Community! PowerShell Core is a cross-platform (Windows, Linux, and macOS) automation and configuration tool/framework that works well with your existing tools and is optimized for dealing with structured data (e.g. JSON, CSV, XML, etc.), REST APIs, and object models. It includes a command-line shell, an associated scripting language and a framework for processing cmdlets. Although this repository started as a fork of the Windows PowerShell code base, changes made in this repository do not make their way back to Windows PowerShell 5.1 automatically. This also means that issues tracked here are only for PowerShell Core 6 and higher. Windows PowerShell specific issues should be opened on UserVoice. If you are new to PowerShell and would like to learn more, we recommend reviewing the getting started documentation.

This is a free-to-use, open-access plan for the organisation, design and construction of self-build homes. If you have ideas for things to add to the plan, you can either edit the plan and add them yourself, or submit a comment and we will add them for you. There are a number of delivery routes for self-build homes: It may not be clear which route should be followed until initial assessments have been carried out, a plot located and a brief prepared. See: Develop a delivery strategy for more information. It is also possible to work with other organisations such as social landlords, developers, or community groups to develop a self-build home, however, these projects are likely to follow a plan imposed by the lead organisation and so they are not covered here, although many of the project stages will be similar. Working with a developer is sometimes called ‘custom build’ rather than ‘self build’.

You can create an Amazon Aurora MySQL DB cluster as a Read Replica in a different AWS Region than the source DB cluster. Taking this approach can improve your disaster recovery capabilities, let you scale read operations into an AWS Region that is closer to your users, and make it easier to migrate from one AWS Region to another. For each source DB cluster, you can have up to five cross-region DB clusters that are Read Replicas. When you create an Aurora MySQL DB cluster Read Replica in another AWS Region, you should be aware of some pitfalls.

Micro-interactions, transitions, and in-app animations should do one great job, which is to explain the logic of an app to a user and improve the overall app usability. Sass variables are simple: you assign a value to a name that begins with $, and then you can refer to that name instead of the value itself. But despite their simplicity, they're one of the most useful tools Sass brings to the table. Variables make it possible to reduce repetition, do complex math, configure libraries, and much more. A variable declaration looks a lot like a property declaration: it’s written <variable>: <expression>. Unlike a property, which can only be declared in a style rule or at-rule, variables can be declared anywhere you want. To use a variable, just include it in a value.
