In particular, the products of this repository are the Java, Swift, and TypeScript libraries that wrap the underlying Rust implementations. All APIs and implementations are subject to change without notice, as are the JNI, C, and Node add-on "bridge" layers. Dart Sass has replaced Ruby Sass as the canonical implementation of the Sass language. We chose Dart because it presented a number of advantages: It's fast. The Dart VM is highly optimized, and getting faster all the time (for the latest performance numbers, see perf.md). It's much faster than Ruby, and close to par with C++. It's portable. The Dart VM has no external dependencies and can compile applications into standalone snapshot files, so we can distribute Dart Sass as only three files (the VM, the snapshot, and a wrapper script). Dart can also be compiled to JavaScript, which makes it easy to distribute Sass through npm, which the majority of our users use already. It's easy to write. Dart is a higher-level language than C++, which means it doesn't require lots of hassle with memory management and build systems. It's also statically typed, which makes it easier to confidently make large refactors than with Ruby. It's friendlier to contributors. Dart is substantially easier to learn than Ruby, and many Sass users in Google in particular are already familiar with it. More contributors translates to faster, more consistent development.To install Sass 1.55.0, download one of the packages below and add it to your PATH, or see the Sass website for full installation instructions. Most APIs that previously returned num now return double. All APIs continue to accept num, although in Dart 2.0.0 these APIs will be changed to accept only double.

Tamron 18-400mm EF-S lens I've been disappointed by the performance of both Canon & Sigma small extreme telephoto zoom lenses, particularly sharpness at the long focal lenses. Then along comes this 18-400mm lens that is the exception to the rule. It autofocuses well even at 400m zoom (at F6.3) given reasonable contrast. Focus is quiet, the anti-vibration feature provides a useful damping of shake, and at F8 the images is less than about 1 pixel blurred even at this huge zoom. At wide angle there is a little exposure fall-off at the corners. Not exceptionally lightweight but perfectly well balanced with the EOS 7D - quite a heavy camera for an EF-S mount. This lens has transformed the usefulness of the 7D as a medium sized setup to for wildlife photography. Not not quite at the quality of an EOS 1D Mk IV + huge and heavy Sigma 50-500mm IS (NLA) but much easier carry and hold and a good choice for a long trek.

By using a Docker image, it is not only possible to deploy one container after another, it’s quite easy. Once you’ve pulled the image from a registry (such as Docker Hub), each container can then be deployed with a single docker command. But what happens when you find yourself having to deploy numerous containers (each for a different purpose) from the same image? All of a sudden the management of those containers can get a bit cumbersome. Say, for example, you pull down the latest Ubuntu image for development. Before you can develop with that container, there are a number of modifications you want to make to the image (such as upgrading software and adding the necessary development packages for the job at hand). For this, you could manually edit each image as needed (creating a new image for each necessary variation on the theme), or you could construct a Dockerfile for each variation. Once you have your Dockerfile constructed, you can quickly build the same image over and over, without having to take the time to do it manually. Carefully crafted Dockerfiles can save you considerable time and effort.

We have all experienced the pain of getting started with React. You spend hours to configure webpack before you can start actual coding. Create React App was created to make it easier and quicker to get started. The problem with create react app is that it hides the webpack config. When your app grows and you need something a bit more advanced, you have to eject and then you get a huge webpack config. And then you are back to the problem that you need to learn webpack anyway. I tried it on a large code base, and it worked out-of-the-box! It even gave me a bundle that was optimized. I have spent days optimizing that bundle using webpack. I think this tool has potential. Let’s look at how to create a React app from scratch!

Even in a talk trying to show how easy React is to set up, it can be very difficult to try and learn each and every step in the setup process. Not too long after React was first out of beta, the team at Facebook made create-react-app. It was an attempt to make spinning up a (very fully-loaded version of a) React app as simple as typing a single command.

I remember how excited I got when I first heard about Chocolatey. Did we finally get a package manager for Windows, one of the things I always envied about *nix and OS X(Homebrew)? I was really excited; I told my co-workers sitting around me about this amazing new tool that would finally make setting up new machines and installing applications as easy as a single command. To my surprise they didn't see how huge this was, but I didn't care. I knew how great this would be. Two years later, I have completely given up.

The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) is required by most European countries (excluding the UK) as evidence of a basic level of competence. There is actually no internationaly agreed competence certificate and it is worth noting that the onus is on you to check the requirements of the state you are visiting. Member states are not obliged to accept the ICC however it is normally widely recognised. It can not be issued to nationals of UNECE Member countries unless they are British Nationals or Residents of the UK. See here for a full list of UNECE countries whose citizens are NOT able to apply for an ICC issued by the RYA.
