GitHub - signalapp/libsignal: Home to the Signal Protocol as well as other cryptographic primitives which make Signal possible.

https://github.com/signalapp/libsignal

Saved by uncleflo on January 29th, 2025.

Home to the Signal Protocol as well as other cryptographic primitives which make Signal possible. libsignal contains platform-agnostic APIs used by the official Signal clients and servers, exposed as a Java, Swift, or TypeScript library. The underlying implementations are written in Rust: This repository is used by the Signal client apps (Android, iOS, and Desktop) as well as server-side. Use outside of Signal is unsupported. In particular, the products of this repository are the Java, Swift, and TypeScript libraries that wrap the underlying Rust implementations. All APIs and implementations are subject to change without notice, as are the JNI, C, and Node add-on "bridge" layers. However, backwards-incompatible changes to the Java, Swift, TypeScript, and non-bridge Rust APIs will be reflected in the version number on a best-effort basis, including increases to the minimum supported tools versions.

Release Dart Sass 1.55.0 · sass/dart-sass · GitHub

https://github.com/sass/dart-sass/releases/tag/1.55.0

Saved by uncleflo on November 14th, 2022.

Dart Sass has replaced Ruby Sass as the canonical implementation of the Sass language. We chose Dart because it presented a number of advantages: It's fast. The Dart VM is highly optimized, and getting faster all the time (for the latest performance numbers, see perf.md). It's much faster than Ruby, and close to par with C++. It's portable. The Dart VM has no external dependencies and can compile applications into standalone snapshot files, so we can distribute Dart Sass as only three files (the VM, the snapshot, and a wrapper script). Dart can also be compiled to JavaScript, which makes it easy to distribute Sass through npm, which the majority of our users use already. It's easy to write. Dart is a higher-level language than C++, which means it doesn't require lots of hassle with memory management and build systems. It's also statically typed, which makes it easier to confidently make large refactors than with Ruby. It's friendlier to contributors. Dart is substantially easier to learn than Ruby, and many Sass users in Google in particular are already familiar with it. More contributors translates to faster, more consistent development. To install Sass 1.55.0, download one of the packages below and add it to your PATH, or see the Sass website for full installation instructions. Most APIs that previously returned num now return double. All APIs continue to accept num, although in Dart 2.0.0 these APIs will be changed to accept only double.

The United States Flag Code provides advisory rules for display and care of the American Flag, but there are also specific guidelines for flying flags on recreational boats. In fact, boat flag etiquette not only ensures that the flag is displayed respectfully, it actually helps boaters to identify one another and communicate while on open water. The five most common types of boat flags are Ensign, Burgee, Private Signal, Courtesy and Signal Flags.

About New Boatbuilders Home Page

Saved by uncleflo on February 9th, 2022.

This site was created primarily for the prospective or newly established boat builder but has proven to be useful to boat owners. It is intended to be a reference for the beginning boat builder who has decided to build boats and sell them. It does not tell you how to build boats, although it has many links to such sites on Ike's List. It does tell you what things you need to know if you are building or planning to build boats and sell them. This is not just for wood boats, or fiberglass boats, but for all boats. The rules, regulations and standards here apply to all recreational boats. They apply primarily to small craft under 60 feet but that is not a hard and fast rule. For instance, all recreational boats are required to have a Hull Identification Number regardless of size. Another instance is gasoline fuel systems. The rules apply to all recreational boats with permanently installed gasoline engines. I will state at the beginning of each subject what it applies to because Federal Regulations define what vessels each regulation applies to and ABYC standards do so as well.

Frontpage -- Terms of Service; Didn't Read

https://tosdr.org/

Saved by uncleflo on January 20th, 2022.

“Terms of Service; Didn't Read” (short: ToS;DR) is a young project started in June 2012 to help fix the “biggest lie on the web”: almost no one really reads the terms of service we agree to all the time. Background. The rough idea behind ToS;DR emerged during the 2011 Chaos Communication Camp near Berlin, with people from Unhosted a movement to create web apps that give users control over their valuable user data and privacy. In the summer of 2012, Hugo Roy (@hugoroyd) started the legal analysis and brought the project to life. Since then, more people have joined the team and have contributed through the reviewer community. Ultimately, all the work is transparent and the discussions happen in public. Our work is funded by non-profits organisations and individual donations and gets released as free software and open data. Please bear in mind that the project is still in the early phase and that most data is subject to important changes. More information about our classification. What does “ToS;DR” mean? the name is inspired by internet acronym TL;DR which stands for "Too Long; Didn't Read" and is often used on blogs and emails when a block of text is just really long and that people are too lazy to read the whole stuff. It was intended more as a code name than as a real name. But it seems that people like it (do you?)

Prettier · Opinionated Code Formatter

https://prettier.io/

Saved by uncleflo on January 16th, 2022.

By far the biggest reason for adopting Prettier is to stop all the on-going debates over styles. It is generally accepted that having a common style guide is valuable for a project and team but getting there is a very painful and unrewarding process. People get very emotional around particular ways of writing code and nobody likes spending time writing and receiving nits. So why choose the “Prettier style guide” over any other random style guide? Because Prettier is the only “style guide” that is fully automatic. Even if Prettier does not format all code 100% the way you’d like, it’s worth the “sacrifice” given the unique benefits of Prettier, don’t you think?

Create a React app with zero configuration using Parcel | blog.jakoblind.no

https://blog.jakoblind.no/react-parcel/

Saved by uncleflo on May 15th, 2021.

We have all experienced the pain of getting started with React. You spend hours to configure webpack before you can start actual coding. Create React App was created to make it easier and quicker to get started. The problem with create react app is that it hides the webpack config. When your app grows and you need something a bit more advanced, you have to eject and then you get a huge webpack config. And then you are back to the problem that you need to learn webpack anyway. I tried it on a large code base, and it worked out-of-the-box! It even gave me a bundle that was optimized. I have spent days optimizing that bundle using webpack. I think this tool has potential. Let’s look at how to create a React app from scratch!

python - How do I fit a sine curve to my data with pylab and numpy? - Stack Overflow

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/16716302/how-do-i-fit-a-sine-curve-to-my-data-with-pylab-and-numpy

Saved by uncleflo on May 15th, 2021.

I am trying to show that economies follow a relatively sinusoidal growth pattern. I am building a python simulation to show that even when we let some degree of randomness take hold, we can still produce something relatively sinusoidal. I am happy with the data I'm producing, but now I'd like to find some way to get a sine graph that pretty closely matches the data. I know you can do polynomial fit, but can you do sine fit? You can use the least-square optimization function in scipy to fit any arbitrary function to another. In case of fitting a sin function, the 3 parameters to fit are the offset ('a'), amplitude ('b') and the phase ('c').

A Step-by-Step Guide to JavaScript Localization – The Phrase Blog – Software Localization Experts

https://phrase.com/blog/posts/step-step-guide-javascript-localization/

Saved by uncleflo on May 11th, 2021.

It's time to talk about front-end. This guide will walk you through the localization of JavaScript apps using jQuery.I18n by Wikimedia, Polyglot by Airbnb, and Globalize by jQuery. Internationalization (dubbed as i18n) and localization (l10n) are very important (though often hard) steps for any application that is going to be used worldwide. In one of our previous articles, we saw how to implement I18n at the backend powered by Ruby on Rails, but today it’s time to talk about frontend. This guide will walk you through JavaScript Localization from A to Z, using the following solutions: All of these solutions are quite different and have their own specifics, so we’ll see them all in action. The source code is available at GitHub.

Intl - JavaScript | MDN

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Intl

Saved by uncleflo on May 11th, 2021.

The Intl object is the namespace for the ECMAScript Internationalization API, which provides language sensitive string comparison, number formatting, and date and time formatting. The Intl object provides access to several constructors as well as functionality common to the internationalization constructors and other language sensitive functions. The internationalization constructors as well as several language sensitive methods of other constructors (listed under See also) use a common pattern for identifying locales and determining the one they will actually use: they all accept locales and options arguments, and negotiate the requested locale(s) against the locales they support using an algorithm specified in the options.localeMatcher property. The locales argument is used to determine the locale used in a given operation. The JavaScript implementation examines locales, and then computes a locale it understands that comes closest to satisfying the expressed preference.
