Seac SZ 5000 is an underwater light characterized by high luminous power up to 4200 Lumens, ideal for both reef night diving or in environments where full visibility is required (cave or wrecks), and for underwater photographers. Despite being a very powerful light, its dimensions are relatively small: 65 mm in diameter and 178 mm in length enabling the diver to store in a BCD pocket or simply attach anywhere. The Seac SZ 5000 is made of high-strength aluminum with tempered optical glass lens and watertight NBR O-ring gasket. The light beam, with a width of 12 °, is 3 CREE SST 40 LEDs and adjustable from 1500 Lumens to 4200 Lumens. The burn-time is 2.5 hours at minimum power and 1 hour at maximum power. The flashlight is powered by an internal 7800 mAh lithium-ion battery rechargeable via USB-C (charge indicator on the battery itself). Seac SZ 5000 also has a flashing light function useful as an alarm / call to other divers. The electromagnetic switch is equipped with a safety lock to avoid switching on accidentally.

I don't sail but this idea interests me. Why couldn't a turbine of some description be fitted to the underside or even integrated into the keel to add to energy produced That is called an hydrogenerator and many oceanic sailboats use them. On the Vendee Globe, the non stop sailing race around the world most boats have two. They are expensive, with a price around 4/5000 euros. Finally somebody is working actively in what seems to be an obvious way to generate electric electricity on sailboats: Photo-voltaic sails. Till now the technology did not allow for panels flexible enough to allow that but on last years the technology has evolved a lot. It is already possible and it will not be expensive in the future. At least a sail manufacturer is working already actively on that, the UKsails France branch.

Diesel engines need no electric supply to keep going, and usually have ample power to drive a substantial bilge pump as well as propelling the boat.Usually, there is no need to run the bilge pump continuously, so the pump is driven via an integral clutch, which allows the pulley on the pump to rotate without turning the pump itself. Fitted with a manual clutch, the pump is engaged by an attached lever. Putting Raspberry Pi boards into space is nothing new, but the method of achieving orbit often differs. While the Astro Pi computers headed for the final frontier onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, there are some decidedly lower-tech approaches including, as detailed on the Tindie blog, this $45 RP2040 flight computer from Finnish designer Dan Invents. Combining the RP2040 controller with an altimeter, accelerometer, temperature sensor, and enough juice to power two servo motors (for parachute deployment on the way down), the Rockit (rocket operation computing kit) weighs just 0.18oz (5g) and measures 1.73 x 0.9 x 0.35 inches (44 x 22 x 9 mm). It comes with an open-source firmware pre-installed, and can be tinkered with and updated over micro USB. There's a 16-position rotary switch for adjusting parameters such as start and end positions for the servos, and also a buzzer, so you can more easily find your rocket after a successful landing. Compared to the 2MHz Apollo guidance computer that deposited Neil Armstrong on the Moon, the RP2040 is a powerhouse, and should be more than capable of altitude-based parachute opening and logging flight data from the sensors to a micro SD card. The kit, which costs $44.99, comes with just the board and its pin headers - you need to supply your own battery, servos, cabling, micro SD card and space suit.

At the time of the Chernobyl accident, on 26 April 1986, the Soviet Nuclear Power Programme was based mainly upon two types of reactors, the WWER, a pressurised light-water reactor, and the RBMK, a graphite moderated light-water reactor. While the WWER type of reactor was exported to other countries, the RBMK design was restricted to republics within the Soviet Union. The Chernobyl Power Complex, lying about 130 km north of Kiev, Ukraine, and about 20 km south of the border with Belarus (Figure 1), consisted of four nuclear reactors of the RBMK-1000 design, Units 1 and 2 being constructed between 1970 and 1977, while Units 3 and 4 of the same design were completed in 1983 (IA86). Two more RBMK reactors were under construction at the site at the time of the accident. To the South-east of the plant, an artificial lake of some 22 km2 , situated beside the river Pripyat, a tributary of the Dniepr, was constructed to provide cooling water for the reactors.

The JetTENDER: Idea is to make really light and practical jet tender boat. Why? Because, strangely?, there is no such product on the market. All available Jet tenders are simply to big, to heavy - more than 290 kg, unpractical and expensive. Our goal is to make Jet tender which will be possible to handle on smaller yachts and sailboards which do not have lifting equipment, where storage have limited space or transom platform is not suitable for big and heavy boats. We believe that there is no need for strong engine. Big engine is heavy, uneconomical, require to much space and in fact you can not exploit all power. Thanks to small engine and joystick steering we could remove bulky steering console. Our concept have more inside space for passengers and cargo than much bigger boats. We managed to incorporate two covered storages and one on aft side is very big.
