Seac SZ 5000 is an underwater light characterized by high luminous power up to 4200 Lumens, ideal for both reef night diving or in environments where full visibility is required (cave or wrecks), and for underwater photographers. Despite being a very powerful light, its dimensions are relatively small: 65 mm in diameter and 178 mm in length enabling the diver to store in a BCD pocket or simply attach anywhere. The Seac SZ 5000 is made of high-strength aluminum with tempered optical glass lens and watertight NBR O-ring gasket. The light beam, with a width of 12 °, is 3 CREE SST 40 LEDs and adjustable from 1500 Lumens to 4200 Lumens. The burn-time is 2.5 hours at minimum power and 1 hour at maximum power. The flashlight is powered by an internal 7800 mAh lithium-ion battery rechargeable via USB-C (charge indicator on the battery itself). Seac SZ 5000 also has a flashing light function useful as an alarm / call to other divers. The electromagnetic switch is equipped with a safety lock to avoid switching on accidentally.

Eddy himself is a fanatical technical and cave diver, with a passion for (underwater) photography. To combine his hobbies in an ideal way, he began years ago with the manufacture of specialized equipment for the technical dive team he takes part in. He produced products like stainless steel springstraps, electrical dry suite heating, special HID dive lights and strobe arm systems for cameras. These products and services were also very popular outside his own team. This resulted in the creation of his own company: Scuba Support. Somewhere right before the 2010’s, we entered what I think of as the “Photoshop Era.” Adobe Photoshop was starting to gain popularity, and the expression, “photoshop it” started getting thrown around. In fact, in 2008, Merriam Webster added “photoshop” to their dictionary as a verb. What I think happened in this period was that photographers who had been working before the advent of programs like Photoshop pushed back on the whole concept. “Real photographers don’t use Photoshop.” You ever hear that one? Tamron 18-400mm EF-S lens I've been disappointed by the performance of both Canon & Sigma small extreme telephoto zoom lenses, particularly sharpness at the long focal lenses. Then along comes this 18-400mm lens that is the exception to the rule. It autofocuses well even at 400m zoom (at F6.3) given reasonable contrast. Focus is quiet, the anti-vibration feature provides a useful damping of shake, and at F8 the images is less than about 1 pixel blurred even at this huge zoom. At wide angle there is a little exposure fall-off at the corners. Not exceptionally lightweight but perfectly well balanced with the EOS 7D - quite a heavy camera for an EF-S mount. This lens has transformed the usefulness of the 7D as a medium sized setup to for wildlife photography. Not not quite at the quality of an EOS 1D Mk IV + huge and heavy Sigma 50-500mm IS (NLA) but much easier carry and hold and a good choice for a long trek.

Journeying to South Africa after graduating with a photographic degree, I trained as a safari field guide. Observing, photographing and learning about the local flora and fauna. A truly awesome experience, which fed my passion about the animal world and animal behaviour, leading me to work in the animal care industry, a very important aspect of my life. Having also a great interest in human nature and the relationship we have with the natural world. My aim is to collaborate these interests to create images that not only reflect on human experience but to ponder the world that we find ourselves in. Understanding the world around us and how we connect to ourselves, and to one another can be a deeply therapeutic experience. Through first hand encounters, the written word or imagery, it can give a sense of clarity; From one moment, being amazed with the beautifully uniform textures of a clustered feather moss, to another, feeling saddened having just discovered the lifeless body a collard dove, moved by the way the foliage appears to be cradling its body like a loving mother. Ready for it's energy to be reclaimed by the earth. It's so easy to become disconnected to the world of nature, my wish is to be able to reconnect you with it. My knowledge is based on research of perception and narration in space. I work on projects both individually and in groups. Either architecture itself is the focus or the interaction with people is central. Subjects of public space, migration, temporary use and fictional space are negotiated. A humorous view and a technical approach about the interplay of humans, their perception and architecture results in different forms of expression: installation, photography, documentary time-lapse, 3D-print and modular construction. Back in the days when men were iron and ships were wood, there were some things you could rely on. One of those things was your wide-aperture prime lens was a relatively simple double-guass design. Pre-1900, lens designers had already created five of the six lens types that are the basis of what we use today. (The retrofocus lens didn't come around until the 1920s, and zoom lenses, for those who are curious, are basically modified Cooke triplets.) The double gauss has been THE predominant design for wide aperture primes since the late 1800s. Over the years, designers have added additional groups to bring in more light, correct aberrations, and generally make a better lens. But the double gauss part was there in the center of the lens diagram for wide-aperture prime lenses right up until modern times. Name a famous prime lens and it was probably a double gauss: Speed Panchro, Planar, Xenon, Summicron, Takumar, Ultron, and on and on.

More about Freeship Plus: It's available for users with the operating system Windows 2000 and previous versions, and you can get it in English, Spanish, and German. The software version is 3.13 and it has been updated on 6/22/2011. Since we added this software to our catalog in 2011, it has obtained 30,071 installations, and last week it achieved 35 downloads. Freeship Plus is a slick program that needs less space than most programs in the category Design & photography software. It's very heavily used in Germany, Canada, and France.

Photographer Max Siedentopf has a new project that examines one of the most boring types of photography: the passport photo. The series shows that even though passport photos need to be boring, the photo shoots themselves don’t.
Official passport photo requirements are extremely restrictive and specify the exact framing (centered with the subject facing straight on), lighting (a clear background with no shadow), and facial expression (no smiling). “It seems almost impossible for any kind of self-expression,” Siedentopf says. His project, titled Passport Photos, “tries to challenge these official rules by testing all the things you could be doing while you are taking your official document photo.”

IPX Rating System: What It Means And Why You Should Know | Gear Mashers

The IPX Rating System is used to evaluate how resistant products are to environmental conditions. Many cycling and camera products often come with an IPX rating letting the consumer know how well an item will hold up under certain environmental conditions. The IP (Ingress Protection) numbers are written as IPXX, where “X”s are placeholders for numbers. The first “X” represents solid (dust/particle) resistance and the second “X” represents liquid resistance (water). When looking for cycling equipment or photography equipment, those products that have a higher IPX rating will be able to withstand the elements for longer periods of time without failure.For those who commute by bike, an IPX4 or greater will help keep your gear dry.

You pored over customer reviews on the B&H Photo website, read online reviews splattered all over the Internet, grabbed a copy of every photo magazine that reviewed the lens, bookmarked dozens of websites, and now have the lens’s MTF curve charts burned into your retinas. Now, your lens is here and it is time to go out shooting. Honestly, not a problem. Your lens should be as good as it can be and, as photographers, we want to take photos. So, stop reading and go out and make some photographs! Still here? OK, let me tell you why you might want to test that lens yourself. The main reason is that even with today's precision computer-controlled manufacturing techniques, there are variations in each and every lens that rolls off an assembly line. This means that some examples will be better than others. Some lenses will be outstanding and others will make you wonder if all of those glowing reviews you read online were completely bogus.
