The first round of JWST data was made public just one day after the release of the first images. In this video, I show the best method for downloading the data using the MAST archive, and then give an overview of how I went about processing! This work is based [in part] on observations made with the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope. The data were obtained from the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes at the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc., under NASA contract NAS 5-03127 for JWST.

Canvey Island Tide Times. Canvey Island Weather is a private weather station based on Canvey Island, Essex. I have been collecting data since September 2009, initially using an Oregon WMR 200 weather station. Archived data is available on the site dating from January 2010. On the 1st of August 2016 I installed a Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station with Daytime Fan-Aspirated Radiation Sheild. The station consists of, anemometer, rain gauge, thermo-hydro sensor, UV sensor and solar sensor, all situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible. Data is collected at intervals between 2.5 seconds and 60 seconds (depending on the sensor) and the website is fully updated every 5 minutes, using Weather Display Software as the interface. The software runs exclusively on a ACEPC AK1 Mini Desktop PC, running Windows 10 Pro, Version 21H1. The complete set up runs 24/7.

“Terms of Service; Didn't Read” (short: ToS;DR) is a young project started in June 2012 to help fix the “biggest lie on the web”: almost no one really reads the terms of service we agree to all the time. Background. The rough idea behind ToS;DR emerged during the 2011 Chaos Communication Camp near Berlin, with people from Unhosted a movement to create web apps that give users control over their valuable user data and privacy. In the summer of 2012, Hugo Roy (@hugoroyd) started the legal analysis and brought the project to life. Since then, more people have joined the team and have contributed through the reviewer community. Ultimately, all the work is transparent and the discussions happen in public. Our work is funded by non-profits organisations and individual donations and gets released as free software and open data. Please bear in mind that the project is still in the early phase and that most data is subject to important changes. More information about our classification. Surveying in caves is a hard and thankless task. We spend hours in uncomfortable locations working to obtain the data we bring back to create cave maps. However in several cases all the hard work put into the survey and sketching of caves has been lost. Either the data itself is lost due to a catastrophe or negligence or the project leader loses interest in the cave, project, or in several cases, caving altogether, and walks away with data. I started caving and mapping in Rockcastle and Jackson Counties Kentucky. Over time I saw many great mapping efforts disappear as people went on to other things, and the maps and data were not preserved. This site was started as an example how the internet can preserve and make available data over long periods of time. It started with Rockcastle and Jackson maps that I had worked on, then friends maps, and now is trying to capture the entire wealth of cave maps in these counties as well as surrounding counties.

Converting cave survey notes into a finished map With a set of cave survey sketch notes in hand, the next steps for converting those notes into a beautiful and accurate map can be daunting. Some cave cartographers spend more time in front of a computer screen than they do underground. Historically survey data was compiled with a calculator, and maps were drafted on mylar sheets with pencil and rapidiograph. Virtually everyone today is using cave survey data management and digital drafting software for the improved efficiency, quality, and ability to make changes and updates. In most cases the data management and drafting are handled by different applications. I recommend developing an efficient workflow for handling new survey data.

This is a Python wrapper for TA-LIB based on Cython instead of SWIG. From the homepage: TA-Lib is widely used by trading software developers requiring to perform technical analysis of financial market data. The original Python bindings included with TA-Lib use SWIG which unfortunately are difficult to install and aren't as efficient as they could be. Therefore this project uses Cython and Numpy to efficiently and cleanly bind to TA-Lib -- producing results 2-4 times faster than the SWIG interface.

I am trying to show that economies follow a relatively sinusoidal growth pattern. I am building a python simulation to show that even when we let some degree of randomness take hold, we can still produce something relatively sinusoidal. I am happy with the data I'm producing, but now I'd like to find some way to get a sine graph that pretty closely matches the data. I know you can do polynomial fit, but can you do sine fit? You can use the least-square optimization function in scipy to fit any arbitrary function to another. In case of fitting a sin function, the 3 parameters to fit are the offset ('a'), amplitude ('b') and the phase ('c').
