Calculate distance and bearing between two Latitude/Longitude points using Haversine formula in JavaScript

http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html

Saved by uncleflo on March 26th, 2015.

This page presents a variety of calculations for latitude/longitude points, with the formulæ and code fragments for implementing them. All these formulæ are for calculations on the basis of a spherical earth (ignoring ellipsoidal effects) – which is accurate enough* for most purposes.

Click on the map and the latitude and longitude of where you've clicked will be shown. Alternatively click the 'Get Map Centre' button to get the location of the centre of the map. Or you can type the latitude/longitude to see the location on the map. And you can use Street View to improve your positioning, where it's available.

Google Location history

https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0

Saved by uncleflo on September 2nd, 2014.

Apparently this record only happens if you have ‘location services’ switched on in your phone; if you do and you’re finding you have no data, then it means that either you don’t exist or you’ve beaten the system. If it’s the latter, please teach me your ways; I know for a fact that I switched my phone’s location detection off, but apparently it somehow got switched back on.

The Google Geocoding API - Google Maps API Web Services — Google Developers

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/

Saved by uncleflo on December 11th, 2012.

Geocoding is the process of converting addresses (like "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA") into geographic coordinates (like latitude 37.423021 and longitude -122.083739), which you can use to place markers or position the map. The Google Geocoding API provides a direct way to access a geocoder via an HTTP request. Additionally, the service allows you to perform the converse operation (turning coordinates into addresses); this process is known as "reverse geocoding."

London Connections RAIL SERVICES

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/passenger_services/maps/London_Connections.pdf

Saved by uncleflo on March 13th, 2011.

This map is a guide to services provided by the train operators on weekdays but does not guarantee direct trains between the stations shown; some peak period services are omitted. A few services do not operate and some stations are not served in the early mornings and late evenings, or at weekends and on public holidays.
Improvement work to track and signalling can affect
services and may apply for extended periods in some
instances. It is recommended that journey details are
checked prior to travel.
