Shuttleworth Design is a multi-award winning design consultancy that has been working with an international client base at the forefront of yacht design, engineering and naval architecture for more than 35 years. Shuttleworth Design grew out of John Shuttleworth Yacht Designs Ltd, a company founded by John Shuttleworth in 1980 to develop the knowledge of multihull design and engineering. John was one of the first yacht designers to develop the idea of "integrated design", a way of approaching the engineering and overall design as an integrated whole rather than a series of parts joined together. John also pioneered the use of computer aided design in multihulls and has always been a believer in research and development, often conducting tank tests and radio controlled model tests. This innovative approach resulted in boats that were lighter, stiffer, and stronger than any previous multihull designs, and put John Shuttleworth Yacht Designs firmly in the forefront of the field. John then successfully transferred this knowledge to cruising designs, an area that is under continual development. His designs have many ocean crossings behind them and Zeepoes (a 63 ft cruising catamaran) has completed two around the world voyages.
