DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is an email-validation system designed to detect and prevent email spoofing, the use of forged sender addresses often used in phishing and email spam. It is built on top of two existing mechanisms, Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM). It allows the administrative owner of a domain to publish a policy in their DNS records to specify which mechanism (DKIM, SPF or both) is employed when sending email from that domain; how to check the From: field presented to end users; how the receiver should deal with failures - and a reporting mechanism for actions performed under those policies. A DMARC policy allows a sender's domain to indicate that their emails are protected by SPF and/or DKIM, and tells a receiver what to do if neither of those authentication methods passes – such to reject the message or quarantine it. The policy can also specify how an email receiver can report back to the sender's domain about messages that pass and/or fail.[2]

Email marketing expert Matt McNeill answers the key questions to get your e-newsletters opened and read. Is email a part of your marketing plan? Are you doing it well? If not then you could be losing out to your competition. From the research my email marketing software company carried out, we have seen open rates climbing to 22.87%. This is an average though – so it’s possible to perform much better, or far worse. What can you do to help ensure success? How can you stop your hard work being rejected as spam?

Oculusai offer a unique service for sites that want more control of uploaded images. AIR REAL TIME offers instant rejection of flawed images. By registering for a free trial account you can easily test AIR. The face detection filter rejects all images that do not contain a clear human face. This includes blurred and partly covered images as well as those with poor light settings. The technology also detects and rejects sketched and animated faces. All approved images are returned with a suggested cropping area to ensure uniformity throughout a site. All images are checked against our global celebrity database and rejected if they contain a celebrity. The database is constantly updated. Customers can add any images used by scammers to our global scammer database via a URL. Any image uploaded by a user that matches one of these will be instantly rejected. As more sites contribute to the database and it expands, we can begin to eradicate known scammers from the marketplace.
