The OpenAPI Specification (OAS) defines a standard, language-agnostic interface to RESTful APIs which allows both humans and computers to discover and understand the capabilities of the service without access to source code, documentation, or through network traffic inspection. When properly defined, a consumer can understand and interact with the remote service with a minimal amount of implementation logic. An OpenAPI definition can then be used by documentation generation tools to display the API, code generation tools to generate servers and clients in various programming languages, testing tools, and many other use cases.

JSON Web Token (JWT) is an open standard (RFC 7519) that defines a compact and self-contained way for securely transmitting information between parties as a JSON object. This information can be verified and trusted because it is digitally signed. JWTs can be signed using a secret (with the HMAC algorithm) or a public/private key pair using RSA or ECDSA. Although JWTs can be encrypted to also provide secrecy between parties, we will focus on signed tokens. Signed tokens can verify the integrity of the claims contained within it, while encrypted tokens hide those claims from other parties. When tokens are signed using public/private key pairs, the signature also certifies that only the party holding the private key is the one that signed it.

This is a living document, intended to help you enjoy working with Brandfolder's API. V4 is a RESTful JSON API giving you programmatic access to the same resources you can access as a user of our website. You're probably wondering, "Which resources are those?"
Well each one has its own section in this documentation for you to learn in more detail exactly what operations you can perform in relation to that particular resource, but a bit of an overview here might be helpful. As a Brandfolder user, you are part of one or more Organizations. Organizations can have multiple Brandfolders. Brandfolders have Sections which hold Assets. Assets have Attachments and can also have Tags and Custom Fields.

This topic describes how to create the most common types of database users. There are eleven type of users. The complete list is provided in the topic CREATE USER (Transact-SQL). All varieties of SQL Server support database users, but not necessarily all types of users. You can create a database user by using SQL Server Management Studio or by using Transact-SQL.

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is an email-validation system designed to detect and prevent email spoofing, the use of forged sender addresses often used in phishing and email spam. It is built on top of two existing mechanisms, Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM). It allows the administrative owner of a domain to publish a policy in their DNS records to specify which mechanism (DKIM, SPF or both) is employed when sending email from that domain; how to check the From: field presented to end users; how the receiver should deal with failures - and a reporting mechanism for actions performed under those policies. A DMARC policy allows a sender's domain to indicate that their emails are protected by SPF and/or DKIM, and tells a receiver what to do if neither of those authentication methods passes – such to reject the message or quarantine it. The policy can also specify how an email receiver can report back to the sender's domain about messages that pass and/or fail.[2]

The OAuth 2.0 authorization framework enables a third-party application to obtain limited access to an HTTP service, either on behalf of a resource owner by orchestrating an approval interaction between the resource owner and the HTTP service, or by allowing the third-party application to obtain access on its own behalf. This specification replaces and obsoletes the OAuth 1.0 protocol described in RFC 5849.

OpenSSH (or Secure SHell) has become a de facto standard for remote access replacing the telnet protocol. SSH has made protocols such as telnet redundant due, in most part, to the fact that the connection is encrypted and passwords are no longer sent in plain text for all to see. However, a default installation of ssh isn't perfect, and when running an ssh server there are a few simple steps that can dramatically harden an installation.

SimpleSAMLphp is an award-winning application written in native PHP that deals with authentication. The project is led by UNINETT, has a large user base, a helpful user community and a large set of external contributors. Some companies offer commercial support for SimpleSAMLphp, and we added this page to help you get in contact with them, in case you for some reason need commercial support. If you buy commercial support for simpleSAMLphp, and invent some addon or new functionality, you are encouraged to share those new bits with the rest of the simpleSAMLphp community. (In fact the open source licence of simpleSAMLphp kind of forces you to do so) We give no guarantees about the quality of the support given by any of these companies, we simply just list them here for your convenience. If you have good or bad experience with any of these comanies, please tell us about it.

I wanted to authenticate users without have a separate set of passwords. I found this authentication backend, but it doesn't work with the latest version of DokuWiki. I therefore set about writing my own authentication backend, which I will post here. I haven't tested it extensively, but it seems to work for me.

Occasionally you may wish to make certain pages of your site only viewable to a select few. you can do this by using PHPs built in HTTP Authentication. The code needs to go right at the top of your php page so don’t get ‘Headers Already Sent’ errors. You can see that we’ve specified the username and password in the variables at the top of the script you can change these to reflect your own username and password.

An HTTP-based interface. We will version the API, but may deprecate early versions aggressively. All /v1 api's require https requests and HTTP-Auth. Keep in mind: Please let us know if you are going to release software that uses this publicly, so that we can at least have a heads-up and hopefully test things out beforehand. Please wait AT LEAST ONE SECOND between queries, or you are likely to get automatically throttled. If you are releasing a library to access the API, you MUST do this. Please watch for 500 or 999 errors and back-off appropriately. It means that you have been throttled. Please set your User-Agent to something identifiable. The default identifiers like "Java/1.4.3" or "lwp-perl" etc tend to get banned from time to time. If you are releasing software or a service for other people to use, your software or service MUST NOT add any links without a user's explicit direction. Likewise, you MUST NOT modify any urls except under the user's explicit direction.
