UPDATE: this is not mantined nor official,you should use the couchbase or other builds. UPDATED BUILD: http://blog.elijaa.org/index.php?post/2010/10/15/Memcached-for-Windows∼ilar . After spending a day searching for a Memcached Windows 64-bit build, I finally gave up and compile it by myself. I manage to build it based on Memcached 1.4.2 with service code from: http://jehiah.cz/projects/memcached-win32/

Following the get started guide: http://www.couchbase.org/products/sdk/membase-php . The php.ini extension for memcached.so seems to be for linux. The windows version should use something like: extension=php_memcached.dll I was able to find php_memcache.dll

Updated: December 28, 2010. First off, all credits go to this guy. I’m just listing the steps on how I did it in Windows 7 with PHP 5.3. Also, I tested this using WampServer but I believe it should work on any PHP install. Install memcached

This page contains a modified version of memcached (v1.2.5 and v1.2.6) and libevent (v1.4.4) that builds on Windows. Building libevent should work out of the box. Building memcached should also work out of the box, but it requires libevent to be first built beside it in a directory called "libevent". The included project files are created with Visual Studio 2003, but should import fine into VS2005 and VS2008. These projects are based on the existing win32 builds of the two projects. Just fixed so that they work. Neither library has been modified from the respective released version other than to add win32 required changes. I released them here simply because I found no buildable win32 versions for these projects. Note in particular that I provide no promises and no support.
