This site was created primarily for the prospective or newly established boat builder but has proven to be useful to boat owners. It is intended to be a reference for the beginning boat builder who has decided to build boats and sell them. It does not tell you how to build boats, although it has many links to such sites on Ike's List. It does tell you what things you need to know if you are building or planning to build boats and sell them. This is not just for wood boats, or fiberglass boats, but for all boats. The rules, regulations and standards here apply to all recreational boats. They apply primarily to small craft under 60 feet but that is not a hard and fast rule. For instance, all recreational boats are required to have a Hull Identification Number regardless of size. Another instance is gasoline fuel systems. The rules apply to all recreational boats with permanently installed gasoline engines. I will state at the beginning of each subject what it applies to because Federal Regulations define what vessels each regulation applies to and ABYC standards do so as well.

Alternating current (ac) or direct current (dc) circuits are capable of carrying very different currents, as illustrated by the ratings on the switch in Figure 1. During grid outages PV Inverter production cannot occur, so a home with a PV inverter system installed will not have power during an outage. However for homes that have a PV Inverter system installed and are already selling power to the grid, it is still possible to retrofit backup power using ConextTM XW Pro, XW+ or SW inverter chargers. In a FIT program either ConextTM XW Pro, XW+ or SW is added behind PV inverter to provide backup, no change to PV inverter FIT wiring is required. However backup power is limited to the capacity of the battery bank and the solar system cannot be used to charge the batteries while the grid is down. In a NET metered program the ConextTM XW Pro or XW+ inverter charger is added in front of PV inverter to provide backup power. The PV inverter is rewired from the grid connection to critical load subpanel and AC Couple is on AC Output port.

Did you know that you don't have to link to an external image file when using an <img> element in HTML, or declaring a background-image in CSS? You can embed the image data directly into the document with data URIs. Basically, a super long string of gibberish characters. It's not gibberish to the browser though of course. This data is interpreted as the type of file you are saying it is.
