PDF - Four or more layer PCB design for beginners using EAGLE

http://brc-electronics.nl/Generalfiles/Report2.pdf

Saved by uncleflo on June 23rd, 2019.

With microcontrollers and other Integrated Circuit (IC)’s getting smaller and smaller Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design gets more and more difficult. 2 layer PCB design is getting common for small companies and hobbyists but 4 layer or more is a bit daring for those used to 2 layers. When designing a circuit with a Ball Grid Array (BGA) that has 100 or more pins a 4 layer circuit board is necessary, but more layers can make designing easier. With prices of 4 layer boards getting lower it can be a better idea to route a board thats hard to do in 2 layers in 4 layers as it can save a lot of time. This document will explain the basics of routing PCBs with 4 or more layers with Cadsoft Eagle.

How to open very large text files on Windows

Saved by uncleflo on May 29th, 2018.

I’ve had to search the occurrency of a string within some very large text files, as result of a “file carving” made with Autopsy. Usually on Windows I use Notepad ++, that provides a convenient feature of ‘Search in files’, but this great tool has difficulty to open files larger than 2Gb. However there are some other solutions on Windows.

So I have this friend. I've told him time and time again how dangerous XSS vulnerabilities are, and how XSS is now the most common of all publicly reported security vulnerabilities -- dwarfing old standards like buffer overruns and SQL injection. But will he listen? No. He's hard headed. He had to go and write his own HTML sanitizer. Because, well, how difficult can it be? How dangerous could this silly little toy scripting language running inside a browser be?

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: What Happened to Unicode and PHP 6

http://www.slideshare.net/andreizm/the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-what-happened-to-unicode-and-php-6

Saved by uncleflo on October 11th, 2016.

n the halcyon days of early 2005, a project was launched to bring long overdue native Unicode and internationalization support to PHP. It was deemed so far reaching and important that PHP needed to have a version bump. After more than 4 years of development, the project (and PHP 6 for now) was shelved. This talk will introduce Unicode and i18n concepts, explain why Web needs Unicode, why PHP needs Unicode, how we tried to solve it (with examples), and what eventually happened. No sordid details will be left uncovered.

Saved by uncleflo on November 14th, 2014.

At 290 meters below the windy surface of the Red Sea in Dahab, just minutes after his bobbing head disappeared into the depths and just 28.25 meters away from the world record he had been training for four years to break, 40-year-old Egyptian Ahmed Gabr felt himself quiver.

All climbers are required to have past high-altitude mountaineering experience. In addition, members should be able to ascend and descend fixed lines independently and be proficient with cramponing on steep ice/snow slopes. For an increased chance of success, members should also be in good physical condition. Our “Live Your Dreams” training program can help you gain any additional training or experience needed.

If you're thinking buying mining hardware, read this first

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6566.0

Saved by uncleflo on May 8th, 2013.

If you've used one of the generic bitcoin profitability calculators, you've probably been surprised by the projected income from Bitcoin mining. The profitability numbers can be shockingly high for just buying a video card, putting it in your PC, and running a program 24/7. But all of the online calculators I've seen omit the biggest hurdle: Difficulty increases. The bitcoin network is designed to produce approximately 2016 blocks every two weeks. With high performance hardware becoming cheaper and more widespread and more users jumping on the mining bandwagon, the only way to keep the block production rate constant is to make it harder. Thus, every two weeks the difficulty adjusts to slow down or speed up production to match this 2016 blocks / 2 weeks target rate. This almost always goes up.
