Welcome Hub - Roberts Space Industries | Follow the development of Star Citizen and Squadron 42

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/playstarcitizen

Saved by uncleflo on January 17th, 2022.

Star Citizen is a multiplayer space trading and combat simulation game that is in development. The game is being developed and published by Cloud Imperium Games for Microsoft Windows. A spiritual successor to 2003's Freelancer, Star Citizen is being led by director Chris Roberts. The game was announced on October 18, 2012 through a successful Kickstarter campaign which drew in over US$2 million. Pre-production of the game began in 2010, with production starting in 2011. Star Citizen has become highly criticized during its long production process, both for the fact that there is still no clear release date and for the challenges backers who have abandoned the project have faced in receiving a refund. The launch of the game was originally anticipated for 2014, but was repeatedly delayed. In 2013, Cloud Imperium Games began releasing parts of the game, known as "modules", to provide players with the opportunity to experience gameplay features prior to release. The latest of these modules, known as the "Persistent Universe", was made available for testing to pre-purchasers in 2015 and continues to receive updates. No projected date for the commercial release of Star Citizen is currently given.

https://www.vertexschool.com/workshop-daniel-williams

Saved by uncleflo on April 10th, 2021.

Daniel Williams is a traditionally trained sculptor who applies his knowledge and experience of creating physical sculpture to the digital space. His studio practice is one of persistent self-education and correction in pursuit of learning the human form in its entirety. It is his belief that, in the language of art, human bodies garner the most empathy and are the most appealing way to convey narrative to an audience. Daniel will teach you the workflows for sculpting realistic human form in Zbrush. Through the process of sculpting a dynamically posed figure, Daniel will help students identify these problem areas and help fill in those knowledge gaps. You will learn how to use anatomical knowledge to create a working logic for building realistic human form.

Persistent block device naming - ArchWiki

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/UUID#by-uuid

Saved by uncleflo on August 31st, 2013.

This article describes how to use persistent names for your block devices. This has been made possible by the introduction of udev and has some advantages over bus-based naming. If your machine has more than one SATA, SCSI or IDE disk controller, the order in which their corresponding device nodes are added is arbitrary. This may result in device names like /dev/sda and /dev/sdb switching around on each boot, culminating in an unbootable system, kernel panic, or a block device disappearing. Persistent naming solves these issues.
