This course will allow beginners to get to grips with all the basic pottery and ceramics techniques. The sessions will cover a taster of lots of different techniques, including coiling, sculpting, slabwork and working on the potter’s wheel and look at the many ways to texture, decorate and glaze your work. There’ll be lots of demonstrations, one-to-one tuition and support, and give you the skills and confidence to develop your own ideas and style. The courses are limited to small groups so that all the students get lots of attention and feedback.

International Flotilla Skipper | IYT Worldwide

Joining a “flotilla” is a fun and exciting way to learn how to confidently skipper a charter yacht for the very first time. A group of boats sail together (flotilla) along a set route, with a “lead boat” in charge, overseeing the safety of all the boats where all the boats are within range of a VHF radio call if required. Before departing in the morning, a route is planned for the day with a set destination for the evenings so that all the boats can anchor or tie up to a mooring buoy (before dark) for the night. Generally speaking, flotillas are restricted to passages close to shore, in fair weather and in good visibility. They are usually followed in the evenings by a beach bar-b-que or dinner together in a social atmosphere where students can swap stories and learn from each other. It is a great way to make new friends and build your confidence, while still enjoying the freedom of being in command of your own vessel with your family and friends.

This is a 3 to 4 day course, depending on wind and conditions, aimed to deliver a safe, informed, confident and competent day sailor/skipper who can confidently command a sailboat up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) and crew during daylight hours in fair conditions in inland waters (bay or lake sailing) or coastal waters up to 5 miles offshore. As you advance and become more proficient as crew or skipper you take on bigger challenges that require proper training to ensure the safety of your family and friends. The bigger the boat or length of adventure the more training you require. Most of us prefer to spend our time on the water and not in a classroom. To facilitate this, IYT has a series of E-learning courses available for the theoretical part of sail and powerboat training.

This project is totally inspired from Aaron Magnin's Fusion 360 Tutorial in Autodesk Youtube Channel. I took a screenshot of the completed model and completed the model according to what I have learned from the tutorial. It was totally fun and a good example to show the power and simplicity of Fusion 360. I hope it will be useful to anyone interested as well. I watched this video and I fully enjoyed the lesson.

You will be living on board a sailing yacht during the course. A course for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. Learn to skipper a short passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety. Experience being in charge, taking credit when it all goes well and being responsible when it doesn't. This course will also qualify you for an ICC certificate. The minimum requirement to charter a boat, we will cover pontoon and med moorings. Each trainee skipper will be asked to skipper the yacht on a short passage. Your instructor will be on hand to give advice and encouragement and to ensure that your destination is reached safely. The essential element is that you experience being in charge and take the credit when all goes well, but also have responsibility when it doesn`t. The end of each day is usually spent around the chart table discussing the passages and gaining from each other`s experience. Day Skipper Practical is the normal follow on Practical course from Competent Crew, however the theory knowledge must be gained prior to attempting this practical course. The course will cover, preparation for sea, deck work, navigation, pilotage, meteorology, rules of the road, maintenance and repair work, engines, victualing, emergency situations, yacht handling under power, yacht handling under sail, passage making and night cruising.

The first and most important point is that the primary use of locking is to solve concurrency problems. If scripts are being implemented that write to the database but aren't multistep operations susceptible to the problems described in the last section, locks aren't needed. Simple scripts that insert one row, delete one row, or update one row, and that don't use results of a previous SELECT or data entered by the user as input, don't require a lock.
