Sinds begin september is er in onze prijsvergelijker ineens de Samsung Spinpoint F4 EcoGreen 2 TB harde schijf te vinden. De Spinpoint serie mag zich afgelopen jaren de meest populaire schijvenreeks op Hardware.Info noemen en geen wonder dus dat de nieuwe F4-schijf, ogenschijnlijk de opvolger van de F3 EcoGreen, direct veel vragen opwierp. Informatique kon ons gelukkig voorzien van een sample, zodat we de nieuwe schijf ons volledig parcours van harddisk benchmarks hebben kunnen laten doorlopen. De schijf maakt gebruik van platters met een capaciteit van 667 GB. Op die manier kan Samsung dus als eerste een 2 TB schijf maken met slechts drie platters en dat biedt een flink prijsvoordeel. Geen wonder dat de Spinpoint F4 EcoGreen duidelijk de goedkoopste 2 TB schijf van dit moment is. Gemiddeld betaal je er zo'n € 97 euro voor. De F3-reeks maakt gebruik van platters van 500 GB en daarbij zijn dus vier platters nodig om een 2 TB schijf te maken.
