The Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI) is an association with the mission to perpetuate the art of independent watch and clock-making. The AHCI is instrumental in helping a new generation of independent watchmakers develop their own brands. The first AHCI exhibition took place at Le Locle in 1985, and was followed by Baselworld in 1987. 30 years later, the AHCI unites 36 idealists from all over the world. To perpetuate independent watch and clock-making by: Promoting the unique character of handmade timepieces Attracting the world’s most creative independent watchmakers Supporting young watchmakers build independent businesses via the Young Talents Competition. AHCI members create art by following the processes of traditional watchmaking, from rough sketches through to the exquisite finished timepieces.
