These notes relate to the stresses and strains existing in thick walled cylinders when subject to internal and external pressures. The notes include the analysis of two or more cylindrical parts, assembled by press fitting or shrinking, resulting in an interference fit between the parts. The equations resulting enable estimates of the forces need to assemble and separate the parts and the maximum torque which can be transmitted by the assembly. Torsion of Open Thin Wall Sections

http://www.colorado.edu/engineering/CAS/courses.d/Structures.d/IAST.Lect08.d/IAST.Lect08.pdf

Saved by uncleflo on September 2nd, 2014.

The treatment of torsion in most Mechanics of Materials textbooks is uneven. While circular cross sections are analyzed in detail (sometimes too thoroughly), the coverage of non-circular sections is typically relegated to “advanced material” covering 4-5 pages. (In this respect Beer-Johnston- DeWolf is somewhat better than Vable, who totally omits Open Thin Wall sections)

BTCMine is a pooled Bitcoin mining server. Pooled mining allows many miners to work together and therefore reduce variance in their Bitcoin reward over time. This is achieved by fairly distributing the reward from any blocks found by the server according to how much work you as an individual miner have contributed.
