Tamron 18-400mm EF-S lens I've been disappointed by the performance of both Canon & Sigma small extreme telephoto zoom lenses, particularly sharpness at the long focal lenses. Then along comes this 18-400mm lens that is the exception to the rule. It autofocuses well even at 400m zoom (at F6.3) given reasonable contrast. Focus is quiet, the anti-vibration feature provides a useful damping of shake, and at F8 the images is less than about 1 pixel blurred even at this huge zoom. At wide angle there is a little exposure fall-off at the corners. Not exceptionally lightweight but perfectly well balanced with the EOS 7D - quite a heavy camera for an EF-S mount. This lens has transformed the usefulness of the 7D as a medium sized setup to for wildlife photography. Not not quite at the quality of an EOS 1D Mk IV + huge and heavy Sigma 50-500mm IS (NLA) but much easier carry and hold and a good choice for a long trek.

Youtube video quality and bitrate… What kind of compression does YouTube use? Every time we post a video on Youtube will ALWAYS recompressed. Youtube DO NOT leaves intact the video posted. YouTube, and a few of the other video services, also automatically deliver different video codecs to different platforms like iOS or Windows. Youtube recommends sending videos with high bitrates but after several tests I have verified that it does not change the quality beyond a certain bitrate, it is more important the quality of the source of acquisition rather than the bitrate. How much does Youtube compress video sent? How much the bitrate is allocated to video based on resolutions, youtube will assign a different bitrate to each resolution, and use 2 types of CODEC (H264 and VP9)

iPerf3 is a tool for active measurements of the maximum achievable bandwidth on IP networks. It supports tuning of various parameters related to timing, buffers and protocols (TCP, UDP, SCTP with IPv4 and IPv6). For each test it reports the bandwidth, loss, and other parameters. This is a new implementation that shares no code with the original iPerf and also is not backwards compatible. iPerf was orginally developed by NLANR/DAST. iPerf3 is principally developed by ESnet / Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Majordomo 2 is an upwardly-compatible rewrite of the popular majordomo mailing list manager software by Jason Tibbitts and Michael Yount. In this case, "upwardly-compatible" means that there is a fairly easy way to upgrade from majordomo 1. Once you upgrade, the email interface is largely the same, but almost everything else is different. It's better though.
