NBC - NeXT Byte Codes, Not eXactly C, and SuperPro C

http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/nbc/

Saved by uncleflo on March 21st, 2012.

Next Byte Codes (NBC) is a simple language with an assembly language syntax that can be used to program LEGO's NXT programmable brick (from the new LEGO Mindstorms NXT set). Download the NBC Guide for detailed information about the NBC language. You can also access online API help for NBC or download a compiled HTML help file. Not eXactly C (NXC) is a high level language, similar to C, built on top of the NBC compiler. It can also be used to program the NXT brick. NXC is basically NQC for the NXT. To compile NXC programs just use the NBC compiler with source code files that have a .nxc file extension. A reference guide for NXC is available. You can also access online API help for NXC or download a compiled HTML help file. To take advantage of multi-dimensional array support and native shift operations be sure to download the enhanced NBC/NXC firmware and install it on your NXT.

Anders' Mindstorms page - Mindstorms NXT Image Scanner

http://www.norgesgade14.dk/nxt_scanner.php

Saved by uncleflo on March 11th, 2012.

The NXT image scanner is a "stand alone" scanner that can scan and save images as a BMP-file in the NXT's flash memory. Images can be saved in either 24-bit true color, 8-bit color or gray scale. Gray scale images are scanned using the light sensor whereas color images are scanned using the HiTechnic color sensor. The scanner has a small LCD menu that let's you set the properties for the scan. Obviously the NXT image scanner is based on experience from my RCX scanner. Where the RCX scanner would take forever to scan even a small image the NXT scanner is much faster and the end result is to my own surprise improved. At the bottom of the page you will find building instructions and program for building your own image scanner.

The NBC/NXC FAQ: Please read the FAQ before sending me an e-mail. There isn't much there yet but it's a start. If after reading the FAQ you still have a question, then please e-mail me and I will try to answer your question and add it to the FAQ. Thanks!
The NXC Guide: Read the NXC Guide for an overview of the NXC language. If you have any questions about the guide or suggestions for improvements please email me.

LEGO - Connie the NXT

http://nxtemplar.blogspot.com/

Saved by uncleflo on October 31st, 2011.

For many reasons, it has been quite a long time since I last played with the NXT. At one point I was actually trying to sell mine as well as someone elses, because I just don't have too much time these days. However, because I once said I would write a library in C#.NET I had a bit of a look to see how far I'd actually gotten with it for old times sake. I tried to get all the software up and running, but because I was running Windows 7 RC x64 I had all sorts of problems. Hopefully this guide will help others using Windows 7 (or even Vista x64) in the future.

Getting Started on Linux

http://lejos.sourceforge.net/nxt/nxj/tutorial/Preliminaries/GettingStartedLinux.htm

Saved by uncleflo on October 31st, 2011.

This version of the tutorial is for the 0.9 release of leJOS NXJ. You will also need a Java Development Kit (JDK) on your PC. Note that a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is not sufficient as it does not allow you to compile Java programs. You can download the latest JDK from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html. Follow the instructions for installing it. leJOS NXJ works has been tested with JDK versions 1.5 and 1.6, but will not work with earlier versions. JDK 1.6 is recommended as some PC samples do not work with JDK 1.5. Note that leJOS has only been tested with the official Oracle JDK. It is likely to work with the Open JDK, but not with gcj.

Lego NXT

http://www.roborealm.com/help/Lego_NXT.php

Saved by uncleflo on October 31st, 2011.

The Lego NXT module allows you to control your Lego NXT Mindstorms Robot Kit using RoboRealm over a wireless Bluetooth link. Controlling the NXT kit from RoboRealm provides you a way to incorporate vision into your Lego robot. The module allows you to control the motors and read the sensors on board the NXT. RoboRealm uses the Bluetooth serial connection to communicate directly with the NXT platform. Note that the NXT brick needs to be within transmission proximity of you PC for communication to be successful (~10 meters).
