Full-Auto Illuminator: Automatically deactivates the Auto EL backlight function when surrounding light is sufficient, and activates it under dim light or dark conditions. Low-temperature resistant (-10 °C): Even temperatures as low as -10 °C have no effect on this watch. Solar Power: A solar cell provides power for operation. Duplex LCD: Giving you a constant overview: Elements on the display are distinguished from one another using colour. This is achieved using different coloured layers placed on top of one another, allowing information to be displayed more clearly. Digital-compass: A built-in direction sensor detecs the magnetic north. 10,000 m Altimeter: A pressure sensor detects changes in the air pressure and converts the result into an altitude up to 10,000 m. Height Gain: The height gain sums all the meters you have climbed in a session, so that you can see at a glance the total ascent on a tour. Sunrise/sunset display: After entering the geographical location, sunrise and sunset times can be displayed for any given date. Barometer (260 / 1.100 hPa): A special sensor measures the air pressure (measuring range: 260 / 1100 hPa) and presents this on the display in the form of a symbol. This enables early detection of weather trends.

A lot of us would like to take part in the 360 degree video revolution but when you look on the sites at what is needed it all seems a little pricey. After all, these are only 1080p camera which every mobile phone has and the technology is not that expensive unless you want the branded cameras or very high end optics and sensors. All of these cameras when fitted with the cover case can go under water as well to 30m apparently.

Want to know where your cat (or dog) goes during the day? Create a easy to use GPS cat tracker using TinyCircuits. TinyCircuits is an Open Source Hardware company specializing in designing and manufacturing very small (Tiny) electronics. Based out of Akron, OH, TinyCircuits was originally started in 2011Akron Skyline by Ken Burns as AkroSense, with the intent to develop cheap, smart (very easy to use) and tiny sensors. During development of the initial sensor prototypes, we realized the need for a host processor platform to use – and the Arduino was the perfect fit. After showing off the prototypes to our friends, we began to shift our focus to building out the TinyDuino platform first, offering a core set of building blocks for makers to use to build cool stuff.

International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, Hindawi Publishing Corporation. International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks focuses on applied research and applications of sensor networks. A large number of important applications depend on sensor networks interfacing with the real world. These applications include medical, military, manufacturing, transportation, safety and environmental planning systems. Many have been difficult to realize because of problems involved with inputting data from sensors directly in to automated systems. Sensor fusion in the context of distributed sensor networks has emerged as the method of choice for resolving these problems.

In the development of distributed security sensor networks a large variety of prototype systems have been implemented and tested. However these systems tend to be developer specific and require substantial overhead in demonstrating more than one application. To bridge the gap between embedded, networked systems and desktop simulation environments, systems are necessary which are easily deployable and allow extended operation of distributed sensor networks, while allowing the flexibility to quickly test and evaluate a variety of operational algorithms. To enable fast optimization by leveraging the widest development community, open standards for such a portable development system are desired.

In this book, the authors discuss the technological developments lead by sensor technology, addressing viable new applications to inspire a technological evolution. Under the advanced and visionary approach of distributed intelligence, the authors focus on three distinct but tightly inter-related areas of developments for distributed sensing systems (DSS): firstly, the sensor technology embracing the conversion of the phenomena of interest into desirable form of signal such as electric, secondly, the interaction process between sensing points which requires immense intelligence loosely called networking, and finally, the adoption of useful maturing systems through potential applications for right impacts for a better life and a brighter economy.

The F65 is built around the unique capabilities of Sony's 20 megapixel Super 35 image sensor. Even in March 2013, more than one year after the launch, this is the highest resolution of any digital motion picture camera. In this way, the camera stands alone in its ability to reproduce scene detail and texture. Exterior wide shots have a monumentality that calls to mind 65mm film. It's an advantage you can exploit no matter what your delivery format: true 4K, supersampled 2K or supersampled HD.

After taking you inside the Air Force's investigation into the crash of a B-2 stealth bomber, PopularMechanics.com has obtained the first still photos of the February accident—and they're pretty stunning. With last month's technical report detailing the demise of the Spirit of Kansas came footage from security cameras at Andersen Air Force base in Guam. Officials also snapped—but, until now, did not release—still photos of that crash site. In the pictures, firefighters work in silvery suits and crash teams cautiously approach the empty ejection seats, which use explosive charges to gain distance from a foundering airplane. Both pilots were able to eject safely through panels in the airplane's cockpit roof. The white spray seen in the photos is fire suppression foam.

The NXT image scanner is a "stand alone" scanner that can scan and save images as a BMP-file in the NXT's flash memory. Images can be saved in either 24-bit true color, 8-bit color or gray scale. Gray scale images are scanned using the light sensor whereas color images are scanned using the HiTechnic color sensor. The scanner has a small LCD menu that let's you set the properties for the scan. Obviously the NXT image scanner is based on experience from my RCX scanner. Where the RCX scanner would take forever to scan even a small image the NXT scanner is much faster and the end result is to my own surprise improved. At the bottom of the page you will find building instructions and program for building your own image scanner.
