GoJS is a feature-rich JavaScript library for implementing custom interactive diagrams and complex visualizations across modern web browsers and platforms. GoJS makes constructing JavaScript diagrams of complex nodes, links, and groups easy with customizable templates and layouts. GoJS offers many advanced features for user interactivity such as drag-and-drop, copy-and-paste, in-place text editing, tooltips, context menus, automatic layouts, templates, data binding and models, transactional state and undo management, palettes, overviews, event handlers, commands, and an extensible tool system for custom operations. GoJS is pure JavaScript, so users get interactivity without requiring round-trips to servers and without plugins. GoJS normally runs completely in the browser, rendering to an HTML5 Canvas element or SVG without any server-side requirements. GoJS does not depend on any JavaScript libraries or frameworks, so it should work with any HTML or JavaScript framework or with no framework at all. StoryMapJS is a free tool to help you tell stories on the web that highlight the locations of a series of events. It is a new tool, yet stable in our development environment, and it has a friendly authoring tool. There are a couple ways you can make a StoryMap. Maps: Add a slide for each place in your story. Setting the location is as easy as a text search for the name, address, or latitude and longitude. You can change the visual style of your map with a few presets, or you can use Mapbox to create your own style. Really big images: You can tell stories with large photographs, works of art, historic maps, and other image files. Because it works best with pixel-dense files, we call these gigapixel. Setting one up requires you to host files on a web server.

With this software you can investigate how a turbojet or rocket nozzle produces thrust by changing the values of different factors that affect thrust. By changing the shape of the nozzle and the flow conditions upstream and downstream, you can control both the amount of gas that passes through the nozzle and the exit velocity. There is another version of this program that has been modified for rocket nozzles. With the rocket version, you can specify a wider variety of propellant combinations.

FoilSim - Student was developed at the NASA Glenn Research Center in an effort to foster hands-on, inquiry-based learning in science and math. FoilSim is interactive simulation software that determines the airflow around various shapes of airfoils. The Airfoil View Panel (shown below) is a simulated view of a wing being tested in a wind tunnel with air moving past it from left to right. Students change the position and shape of the wing by moving slider controls that vary the parameters of airspeed, altitude, angle of attack, thickness and curvature of the airfoil, and size of the wing area. The software displays plots of pressure or airspeed above and below the airfoil surface. A probe monitors air conditions (speed and pressure) at a particular point on or close to the surface of the airfoil. The software calculates the lift of the airfoils, allowing students to learn the factors that influence lift. The software includes a stall model for the airfoil and a model of the Martian atmosphere for lift comparisons. The latest version (FoilSim III - Version 1.4b) performs a table look-up of experimental data to determine the drag of the foil. A technical paper describing the details of the mathematical method used in FoilSim is also available.

If you want to create your own specific chart or image crop and rotate widget, for example, you can achieve it simply and easily with this library. Raphaël ['ræfeɪəl] uses the SVG W3C Recommendation and VML as a base for creating graphics. This means every graphical object you create is also a DOM object, so you can attach JavaScript event handlers or modify them later. Raphaël’s goal is to provide an adapter that will make drawing vector art compatible cross-browser and easy. Although information visualization (infovis) technologies have proven indispensable tools for making sense of complex data, wide-spread deployment has yet to take hold, as successful infovis applications are often difficult to author and require domain-specific customization. To address these issues, we have created prefuse, a software framework for creating dynamic visualizations of both structured and unstructured data. prefuse provides theoretically-motivated abstractions for the design of a wide range of visualization applications, enabling programmers to string together desired components quickly to create and customize working visualizations. To evaluate prefuse we have built both existing and novel visualizations testing the toolkit's flexibility and performance, and have run usability studies and usage surveys finding that programmers find the toolkit usable and effective.

Do court cases differ from place to place? What kind of picture do we get by looking at a countrys collection of law cases? We introduce Parallel Tag Clouds: a new way to visualize differences amongst facets of very large metadata-rich text corpora. We have pointed Parallel Tag Clouds at a collection of over 600,000 US Circuit Court decisions spanning a period of 50 years and have discovered regional as well as linguistic differences between courts. The visualization technique combines graphical elements from parallel coordinates and traditional tag clouds to provide rich overviews of a document collection while acting as an entry point for exploration of individual texts. We augment basic parallel tag clouds with a details-in-context display and an option to visualize changes over a second facet of the data, such as time. We also address text mining challenges such as selecting the best words to visualize, and how to do so in reasonable time periods to maintain interactivity.

Controlling the NXT kit from RoboRealm provides you a way to incorporate vision into your Lego robot. The module allows you to control the motors and read the sensors on board the NXT. RoboRealm uses the Bluetooth serial connection to communicate directly with the NXT platform.
