This mechanism uses rotary motion to move a gear quickly and precisely into a fixed position. Using skateboard bearings, you can snap these parts together and use the action for all kinds of useful (or useless) machines. Using gears that have teeth and smooth gaps, you can make a gear spin and stop at just about any angle you want. This is similar to a geneva gear, but it's much simpler to 3D model and (I think) a bit easier to understand. This is the first in a series of 3D printed mechanisms modeled in Fusion 360 using skateboard bearings and 3D printed parts. The idea is that you'll be able to use the mechanisms to make all kinds of projects that use mechanical assemblies like robots or any other machine you might want to make.

The successful fulfillment on Kickstarter rewards is just the beginning of our journey. We are determined to make such fabrication tools as 3D printers, laser engravers and CNC carvers more accessible with higher quality, lower price and better user experience. We believe that making will be as easy as taking photos in the coming decades. Making or Do-It-Yourself is much more pervasive now than 10 years ago because such fabrication tools as 3D printers, laser engravers and CNC carvers have been popularized. We love these tools ourselves and we hope that more people can make good use of these tools in their daily life as we do. Therefore, we are determined to make these tools even more accessible for ordinary consumers. We hope our products will enable you to turn your ideas into reality no matter you are a 30-year-old engineer, an 80-year-old hobbyist or a 10-year-old student. We have a team of passionate and talented people to make this dream come true. We understand that there are three most common obstacles that hold people back from launching their DIY projects: high price of DIY tools, doubtful quality and the steep learning curve of the tools. That is why we devote unprecedented commitment to hardware and software development and community establishment, ensuring that we can provide high-quality, affordable and user-friendly fabrication machines.

Cutting-edge technology with robots for machining marble and stones from T & D Robotics Srl: low price and easy to use T & D Robotics Srl is a company that operates in the sector of robotics for the stone industry. In particular, it offers its customers robots for machining marble and stone. Its key product is the Lapisystem, which is divided into four types of robots that differ in terms of operative dimensions, spindle power, and weight. They are all six-axis articulated robots complete with software for managing the system and its accessories. Robots for marbleThe products from T & D Robotics may also be used for processing cement, Corian ®, glass, carbon fibre, bricks, wood, and resin. The idea of making robots for processing stone and marble is in line with the theory that machines with a high technological content permit reduction of work times. T&D robots are characterized by ease of use, installation speed, and low price; they therefore represent a valid investment for professionals in the sector. They are used for machining tubs, sinks, shower bases, fountains, chimneys, tombstones, columns, statues, sculptures, bas-reliefs, and much more. In addition to complex processes, the robots can also carry out contouring, chamfering, and drilling operations. The robots from T & D Robotics Srl are ideal for all processing of marble, granite, and stone. Robots for marble and stone: Lapisystem. Lapisystem is a highly technological product consisting of a robot that is able to guarantee every type of machining for marble and stone. It is a system designed for use in all kinds of stone workshops. It is fast, extremely reliable, and easy to use. The ample operational range, contained footprint (considering that Lapisystem reaches 3.5 mt in height and a 7 mt radius) and the possibility of using it for both marble and granite, permit this product to easily handle both complex sculptural work and rapid operations of contouring, chamfering, or drilling.

In the last few years Robot integrator T&D in collaboration with a leading supplier of natural stone, Marmi e Graniti d'Italia (MGI), has applied its technology and innovation for applications in the stone industry. One of the latest frontiers in the field is definitely the interaction between ABB robots and natural stone. Using the creation of a replica of artist Amedeo Modigliani's infamous "HEAD" sculpture in white granite, T&D explored the application of a robotic milling system to evaluate whether industrial robots are capable of the demands and challenges that processing stone requires. The results of the experiment surpassed all expectations offering a quality of cut comparable to CNC machinery. The possibility of perfecting the approach, integrating milling and polishing, is currently being explored in collaboration with ABB integrator T&D Robotics.

We've seen the forward kinematics problem. The inverse kinematics problem is much more interesting and its solution is more useful. At the position level, the problem is stated as, "Given the desired position of the robot's hand, what must be the angles at all of the robots joints?" Humans solve this problem all the time without even thinking about it. When you are eating your cereal in the morning you just reach out and grab your spoon. You don't think, "my shoulder needs to do this, my elbow needs to do that, etc." Below we will look at how most robots have to solve the problem. We will start with a very simple example.

This book is about building robots that move with speed, efficiency, and grace. I believe that this can only be achieve through a tight coupling between mechanical design, passive dynamics, and nonlinear control synthesis. Therefore, these notes contain selected material from dynamical systems theory, as well as linear and nonlinear control.

It keeps amazing me that I keep seeing people use robots.txt files to prevent sites from being indexed and thus showing up in the search engines. You know why it keeps amazing me? Because robots.txt doesn’t actually do the latter, even though it does prevent your site from being indexed.

The Robot Operating System (ROS) is a set of software libraries and tools that help you build robot applications. From drivers to state-of-the-art algorithms, and with powerful developer tools. Back in 2009, I was in the middle of programming my own general framework for robotics using Windows and C# when I came across a video of the Willow Garage PR2 plugging itself into a regular wall socket to recharge. Without another thought, I deleted every line of code I had written over the past two years, installed Linux over Windows and jumped on the ROS train..." -- Patrick Goebel, Pi RobotBack in 2009, I was in the middle of programming my own general framework for robotics using Windows and C# when I came across a video of the Willow Garage PR2 plugging itself into a regular wall socket to recharge. Paul Furgale is the Deputy Director of the Autonomous Systems Lab at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich). His current research is focused on long-term autonomy for mobile robotic systems, including perception, mapping, localization, and planning over long timescales and in highly dynamic environments. He is the scientific coordinator for V-Charge, a European project and industry/academic collaboration that seeks to develop automated valet parking and charging of electric vehicles in mixed traffic. He received a PhD (2011) from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS) where he developed algorithms to support over-the-horizon sample return for planetary exploration rovers as part of the Autonomous Space Robotics Lab. His PhD work was field tested in the Canadian High Arctic and subsequently integrated into several Canadian Space Agency rover prototypes.

When Aerofex showed off its "hoverbike" almost two years ago, the California firm received a flood of emails from people asking when they could buy one of their own. Now Aerofex has unveiled plans to begin selling a commercial model in 2017 for about US $85 000—but anyone eager for a head start on living the "Star Wars" dream can put down a preorder deposit of $5000 toward the final price.
