Why is Ukraine the West's Fault? Featuring John Mearsheimer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrMiSQAGOS4

Saved by uncleflo on September 4th, 2022.

UnCommon Core: The Causes and Consequences of the Ukraine Crisis. John J. Mearsheimer, the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor in Political Science and Co-director of the Program on International Security Policy at the University of Chicago, assesses the causes of the present Ukraine crisis, the best way to end it, and its consequences for all of the main actors. A key assumption is that in order to come up with the optimum plan for ending the crisis, it is essential to know what caused the crisis. Regarding the all-important question of causes, the key issue is whether Russia or the West bears primary responsibility. Since its founding in 1890, the University of Chicago has been a destination for rigorous inquiry and field-defining research. This transformative academic experience empowers students and scholars to challenge conventional thinking in pursuit of original ideas.

If you're technologically minded and looking for a career with lots of opportunities, this one may be a great fit. If your tech dream career involves lots of job openings, opportunities to be creative, and above-average pay, think about becoming a systems architect. Every company that uses computers needs one because it's the systems architect's job to oversee the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the tech infrastructure. As a systems architect, you will work with software, hardware, servers, internet and intranet connections, and web portals, along with teams of engineers and other architects. You might also be responsible for overseeing network security. In short, you will survey an organization's computing needs and budget, and then figure out how to create an IT infrastructure that has the required resources and offers the desired user experience. When you become a systems architect, you can work in industries as diverse as telecommunications, healthcare, defense, retail, and banking. A quick look at Glassdoor typically yields openings for systems architects at companies like CVS, IBM, Apple, Amazon, and Bank of America, paying anywhere from $60,000 to more than $150,000 per year. BBC - Travel - A 1,000-year-old promise of peace

Two Muslim families hold the keys to the doors of Jerusalem's holiest church in order to keep the peace between three feuding Christian denominations. On a recent Sunday morning, Adeeb Jawad Joudeh Al Husseini was sitting on a bench just inside the sole public entrance to Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The doorway to the sprawling church, founded in the 4th Century, is where the 53-year-old Muslim has spent much of his life. His father, grandfather and dozens of generations of forefathers before them also dedicated most of their lives to sitting on this bench, guarding the church believed to contain the tomb of Jesus, Al Husseini said, pulling a 20cm-long iron key out of his leather jacket’s inner pocket.
