CT Self Assessment applies to APs ending on or after 1 July 1999. The current process, briefly, is as follows. A notice to deliver a company tax return is issued. The company makes a return that includes a self assessment of the tax due. The return must be submitted through the CT Online Service for the vast majority of companies and include accounts and computations in iXBRL format. HMRC has the right to correct obvious mistakes in the return, such as arithmetic errors, but in practice the validation in the CT Online Service prevents customers making many such errors. If the company does not submit a return, HMRC issues a revenue determination that can be displaced only by the submission of a return. HMRC has an explicit right to enquire into the completeness and accuracy of any company tax return.

If you have followed my blog over the past few years, you may have read some of the articles I wrote on the subject of tethered shooting with your Canon DSLR together with either a tablet or smartphone. I love tethered shooting with portable devices, mainly because they are small and easy to carry around, I can trigger the camera remotely and I can see a larger review image on the remote screen afterwards. In fact, my most widely read blog post is one I wrote in November 2013 titled Tethered Shooting With Your Canon DSLR And Android Tablet. But since then, a lot has changed. Many of the newer Canon DSLR bodies now offer Wi-Fi, such as the Canon 6D, 80D, 70D, 1DX Mark II (via the Canon WFT-E8 adapter), all versions of the Rebel T6, and the 7D Mark II (via a recently released Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter). But best of all, the newest Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, which was just released last month, is Canon’s first high-end, full frame DSLR to have full Wi-Fi built in. So an updated post on this subject was needed.

This is a follow-up blog post that expands on the subject of highly available cluster, discussed in MariaDB MaxScale High Availability: Active-Standby Cluster. Replication Manager is a tool that manages MariaDB 10 clusters. It supports both interactive and automated failover of the master server. It verifies the integrity of the slave servers before promoting one of them as the replacement master and it also protects the slaves by automatically setting them into read-only mode. You can find more information on the replication-manager from the replication-manager GitHub repository. Using Replication Manager allows us to automate the replication failover. This reduces the amount of manual work required to adapt to changes in the cluster topology and makes for a more highly available database cluster. In this blog post, we'll cover the topic of backend database HA and we’ll use Replication Manager to create a complete HA solution. We build on the setup described in the earlier blog post and integrate Replication Manager into it. We're using Centos 7 as our OS and we'll use the 0.7.0-rc2 version of the replication-manager.

Sasha Grey, rising adult film and pop-culture star, takes control in her new monograph neü sex, moving out from in front of the camera to behind it, turning the lens on the wild world she inhabits. “When I first got into the adult industry, I decided to take my photography much more seriously. I started taking a camera with me to capture my experiences on set, so it was a moment in time, a memory for myself—not the video that would be seen by thousands of people. On days where I was physically unable to capture an image, Ian, my fiancé, became my third arm. He understands my aesthetic, or lack thereof. Ian is a photographer, yet the work in this book is quite different from his usual style. When you are so close with someone, there is a shorthand and true understanding of what the other person is trying to accomplish. If there’s something I am physically unable to photograph, I can say one word and Ian can assist me with my vision. Ian can capture intimate moments with me that nobody

Coral reefs (1842) was Darwin’s first monograph. It addressed an immensely ambitious subject. It is perhaps second only to the Origin for its masterful deduction from observation, leading to the construction of a theory that if proved would exceed all previous attempts and virtually solve its subject. The power of Darwin’s monograph was well recognised by his contemporaries as a major scientific work. It was for this book and his monographs on barnacles that Darwin was awarded the Copley Medal by The Royal Society in 1864.
