In a world filled with ever-more-complex technological, sociological, ecological, political & economic systems... a tool to make interactive simulations may not be that much help. But it can certainly try. It's the ancient, time-honored way of learning: messing around and seeing what happens. It’s been a while since I’ve posted an abstract, theoretical article on a fine point of SQL. Today I want to bring your attention to two ways in which an RDBMS can allow you to do something that has no well-defined result. These involve queries where several values are eligible, but only one is chosen – and chosen in an undefined manner. I’ll show you the two blunders, tell you when they might occur, and explain how to avoid them.

SequenceDiagram.org is a completely free online tool for creating sequence diagrams. The graphic design is created by yusi.se. All processing of parsing and painting the diagram is done using javascript client side in the user's web browser. This not only makes it snappy to work with, but it also means that your secrets are safe. Since no backend server is used it is also possible to use the web application offline. There are many sequence diagram tools out there but this is the only one which allows you to: Script using a simple text notation when it is most convenient to do so, and Interact using your mouse to draw and change arrows or create notes when that is most convenient In other words bringing the best from both worlds. This makes it very easy to work with large diagram where other similar tools struggle. It also doesn't have any ads or unnecessary istracting elements. (Even the top bar can be hidden to maximize the working area). The source script of the diagrams can be save as text files directly to your hard drive or in the browsers local storage. There are also single click buttons to save the diagram in HQ png or LQ jpeg format. The size of the image depends on the current zoom level. If you want to share a diagram with others there is a URL share button available. It creates a link containing all the data of the diagram and can be sent to others so that they can view your diagram or keep working where you left off. The tool is developed and maintained by people who create a lot of sequence diagrams in their daily work and from efficiency point of view weren't 100% satisfied with the existing tools.

Most users at one time or another have dealt with hierarchical data in a SQL database and no doubt learned that the management of hierarchical data is not what a relational database is intended for. The tables of a relational database are not hierarchical (like XML), but are simply a flat list. Hierarchical data has a parent-child relationship that is not naturally represented in a relational database table. For our purposes, hierarchical data is a collection of data where each item has a single parent and zero or more children (with the exception of the root item, which has no parent). Hierarchical data can be found in a variety of database applications, including forum and mailing list threads, business organization charts, content management categories, and product categories.

Let's visualize and talk about the "full stack" of web development. From a developer's standpoint, we're probably talking about the layers of code involved in delivering a website to an end user. But let's back up further for a moment and just talk about a stack of things. Given all the different device, language, and application options out there, many stacks of things in this case! There's the stacks involved for phone application development, stacks for websites, stacks for console gaming, and more! This calculator is intended to provide a faster more convenient alternative to printed tables and charts (e.g. NACA Report 1135). The core of the code was written in Javascript by William Devenport at the Aerospace and Ocean Engineering Department, Virginia Tech. Five sets of relations are included; The relations themselves are taken from standard aerodynamics texts. Symbols have their usual meanings. 'Gamma' and 'rho' are substituted for the corresponding greek letters denoting the ratio of specific heats and density. Subscript 'o' is used to refer to stagnation or total conditions, superscript '*' refers to sonic conditions.
