PHP Fine Diff

http://www.raymondhill.net/finediff/viewdiff-ex.php

Saved by uncleflo on December 28th, 2017.

This page demonstrate the FineDiff class (as in “fine granularity diff”) I wrote – starting from scratch – to generate a lossless (won't eat your line breaks), compact opcodes string listing the sequence of atomic actions (copy/delete/insert) necessary to transform one string into another (thereafter referred as the “From” and “To” string). The “To” string can be rebuilt by running the opcodes string on the “From” string. The FineDiff class allows to specify the granularity, and up to character-level granularity is possible, in order to generate the smallest diff possible (at the potential cost of increased CPU cycles.)

Web Services Atomic Transaction (WS-AtomicTransaction)

http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-tx/wsat/2006/06

Saved by uncleflo on November 17th, 2016.

Web Service Atomic Transaction is an OASIS standard. To achieve all-or-nothing property for a group of services, it defines three protocols (completion, volatile two-phase commit, and durable two-phase commit), and a set of services. These protocols and services together ensure automatic activation, registration, propagation and atomic termination of Web services. The protocols are implemented via the WS-Coordination context management framework and emulate ACID transaction properties. Following the standard, a distributed transaction has a coordinator, an initiator, and one or more participants. This document describes the WS-AtomicTransaction namespace. It also contains a directory of links to related resources using Resource Directory Description Language (RDDL) 2.0.

Transatomic - Let’s create abundant energy and a healthy world

http://www.transatomicpower.com/

Saved by uncleflo on July 14th, 2016.

The nuclear industry of the 1950s was defined by an inexhaustible optimism and rigorous scientific thinking. Anything was possible, and nuclear energy promised to power the world. Revolutionary designs were prolific. Today, however, this technological diversity has been narrowed, and the industry has become locked into one design: the light water reactor. We’re challenging this strategy and have returned to the beginning to explore another path, and another design – the molten salt reactor. This simple reactor design, updated with modern technology and materials, has the potential to revolutionize the nuclear industry.

Atomic Design | Brad Frost Web

Saved by uncleflo on July 16th, 2014.

As the craft of Web design continues to evolve, we’re recognizing the need to develop thoughtful design systems, rather than creating simple collections of web pages. A lot has been said about creating design systems, and much of it focuses on establishing foundations for color, typography, grids, texture and the like. This type of thinking is certainly important, but I’m slightly less interested in these aspects of design because ultimately they are and will always be subjective. Lately I’ve been more interested in what our interfaces are comprised of and how we can construct design systems in a more methodical way.

3D Realms Site: Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition

http://www.3drealms.com/duke3d/

Saved by uncleflo on September 5th, 2013.

The third chapter in the series, and the first with a 3D perspective (the original Duke Nukem and the sequel, Duke Nukem II, are side scrolling platform games). This game, set sometime in the early 21st century, begins in a ravaged LA, which was overtaken by aliens while you were abducted during Duke Nukem II. Duke, upon returning to Earth, finds himself with another mess to clean up, and another alien race that needs exterminating. Duke is a can-do hero who realizes that sometimes innocent people have to die in order to save Earth, so accuracy of gun fire is not a real concern to him. :)
