You would want to install the Securly SSL certificate in your Chrome browser to ensure the best browsing experience. The certificate does not control the level of filtering or what sites are allowed. The certificate will prevent errors on sites that Securly decrypts. Without the certificate, sites like Google.com and Facebook.com will show privacy errors, users will perceive this as the internet being “broken”. To install the Securly SSL certificate manually in Chrome, open ‘chrome://settings’ in your Chrome browser (version 59.0.3071 and above)

We have all heard of the golden mean (also known as the golden ratio or golden section): the self-replicating page with a proportion of 1:1.618 that is said to be found in everything from the design of ancient Greek architecture to the growth patterns of plants. This and other meaningful ratios rooted in geometry, music, nature, and history can be expressed as modular scales and put to work on the web. A modular scale is a sequence of numbers that relate to one another in a meaningful way. Using the golden ratio, for example, we can produce values for a modular scale by multiplying by 1.618 to arrive at the next highest number, or dividing by 1.618 to arrive at the next number down.

Gesneden zoethoutwortel.

In addition to the tasks often performed by users in Section 44.1, “End User Control of SELinux”, SELinux administrators could be expected to perform a number of additional tasks. These tasks typically require root access to the system. Such tasks are significantly easier under the targeted policy. For example, there is no need to consider adding, editing, or deleting Linux users from the SELinux users, nor do you need to consider roles. This section covers the types of tasks required of an administrator who maintains Red Hat Enterprise Linux running SELinux.

Version 1.340 of webmin and possibly older are available directly as a .deb file via www.webmin.com and can be installed by double clicking the .deb package from Nautilus file manager. When installed, pointing a browser to https://localhost:10000 will load the webmin interface. You can now login as your normal username and password. Any user that can use Sudo permissions can log straigh in.

cPanel is one of the most popular Commercial control panel for Linux web hosting, I have been working with cPanel for 2+ years to manage all Shared, Reseller and business hosting customers. It comes with cPanel and Web Host Manager, which makes web hosting easier for you. WHM provides you root level access to your server whereas cPanel provides user level access interface to manage their own web hosting account on the server.

OpenSSH (or Secure SHell) has become a de facto standard for remote access replacing the telnet protocol. SSH has made protocols such as telnet redundant due, in most part, to the fact that the connection is encrypted and passwords are no longer sent in plain text for all to see. However, a default installation of ssh isn't perfect, and when running an ssh server there are a few simple steps that can dramatically harden an installation.

Does anyone know which sebool it is to allow httpd write access to /home/user/html? When I disable selinux echo 0 > /selinux/enforce I can write, so definitely selinux. Just don't know which one is the right one without opening a big hole and Google isn't being much help.

How to add a user to the sudoers list? Beleive it or not, this is a fairly common question and in all reality the answer is quite simple. Adding a user to the sudoers list on a fully installed Linux system such as Debian is only possible via the command visudo.

This article describes how to manage user and group accounts. Whilst certain desktop environments provide graphical user/group management tools, they are not discussed here. Users and groups are used on GNU/Linux for access control. The superuser (root) has complete access to the operating system and its configuration; it is intended for administrative use only. Unprivileged users can use the su and sudo programs for controlled privilege escalation.
