This device is currently in use - USB error on Windows 11/10

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/this-device-is-currently-in-use-usb

Saved by uncleflo on September 8th, 2022.

We use our external USB storage devices, peripherals, and several devices almost daily. When taking out the USB Storage devices, it is advised to use the Safely remove the USB Storage device option. It prevents data corruption in those USB devices. But sometimes, you may see the following error appear, which may prevent you from ejecting the device: Problem ejecting USB Mass Storage – This device is currently in use, close any programs or windows that might be using this device, and then try again. Windows can’t stop your Generic Volume Device because a program is still using it. Close any programs that might be using the device and then try again. It is caused due to the device interacting with the operating system in the background. Today, we will be checking out how to fix this error on Windows 11 and Windows 10.

I've been looking for informations on how to configure the cross compilation on qt (windows) for the raspberry 3. I don't know if it's the place to write it, but for people who are interested in, here is how I did the cross compilation beetwee windows 8 and raspberry pi 3 (debian jessie). Most of steps come from the tuto here : http://visualgdb.com/tutorials/raspberry/qt/embedded/ There should be different ways to make it work, maybe this is not the best one, but it works for me. Hope it's helpful, sorry if i'ts not the place.

Having problems adding Mailchimp's suggested CNAME - GoDaddy Community

https://uk.godaddy.com/community/Managing-Domains/Having-problems-adding-Mailchimp-s-suggested-CNAME-record/m-p/13683#M2625

Saved by uncleflo on December 23rd, 2018.

Mailchimp have suggested adding a CNAME record as following to the DNS records. I am not without experience in these matters and have replaced the 'yoursite.com' with the domain name and as far as I can tell have done everything ok .... but it replies with this. An unexpected error occurred. If this issue continues, contact support. Chat is currently offline so I thought I would ask the question here and see if anyone has had similar problems. Sorry to hear about the error when adding the cname record. I have a suggestion that may help resolve the issue when adding you cname record to your dns zone file. When adding the record you may need to remove the "yoursite.com" section from the record as the cname will already be created as a subdomain of your primary domain. This means when adding the record in the host section it should be added as k1._domainkey only and not k1._domainkey.yourdomainname.com. I also tried this on a test domain to ensure the record would save properly. Below I have also pasted a screenshot of how to properly submit the cname record. If for any reason you continue to recieve and error after adding the record please contact our 24/7 customer support line so that our representatives may further research the error.

How to manually install the Securly SSL certificate in Chrome

You would want to install the Securly SSL certificate in your Chrome browser to ensure the best browsing experience. The certificate does not control the level of filtering or what sites are allowed. The certificate will prevent errors on sites that Securly decrypts. Without the certificate, sites like Google.com and Facebook.com will show privacy errors, users will perceive this as the internet being “broken”. To install the Securly SSL certificate manually in Chrome, open ‘chrome://settings’ in your Chrome browser (version 59.0.3071 and above)

How to find out who is locking a table in MySQL

https://www.xaprb.com/blog/2006/07/31/how-to-analyze-innodb-mysql-locks/

Saved by uncleflo on April 18th, 2018.

MySQL is adding more tools to monitor its internals with every new release, but one thing it still lacks is a way to find out who is locking what, and therefore which transactions block which other ones. This is such a vital feature that I’m considering writing my own patch to the source! Still, it is possible, to a limited extent, to find out who’s locking resources. In this article I’ll explain how you can do that. This article is the second in a series on how to use the innotop MySQL and InnoDB monitor.

Full-Stack Cloud Native Monitoring Strategies

http://realscale.cloud66.com/full-stack-cloud-native-monitoring-strategies/

Saved by uncleflo on December 27th, 2017.

It is the weekend, late at night, or first thing Monday morning and you receive the dreaded phone call or SMS: “The application is down! We need all hands to figure this out!” After spending hours trying to track down the issue by reviewing logs, looking at the currently deployed code, and hundreds of IM exchanges, you finally find it – someone deployed a patch to production late Friday and it broke an important part of your application. You have probably been there. While tracking down issues can be difficult for any application, cloud native applications are particularly difficult. Applications are deployed to multiple servers across any number of zones. Servers have been created and destroyed. And the amount of traffic you must handle makes it hard to read log files (even centrally managed log files). So, how do you solve the need for monitoring in a cloud native architecture? While every application’s needs are different, we must first understand the options available to us. This article provides an overview of the goals of monitoring and the types of cloud native monitoring available, to help provide some insight into monitoring your Realscale applications.

Apache mod_rewrite Tutorial

http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/server/apache/mod-rewrite/syntax.html

Saved by uncleflo on October 11th, 2014.

We need to tell Apache where and what to rewrite. You have two options here - more commonly, you can place the code in a .htaccess file. This is nothing more than a text file which when present in a directory will be interpreted by Apache. You may already be familiar with a .htaccess file, as these allow you set all kinds of server options, e.g. as a custom 404 error page. The other alternative is only available if you have root access and that is to place the code inside your httpd.conf. See load issues for more information. Throughout this tutorial, I am assuming you are using a .htaccess file in the root of your domain (i.e. http://example.com/.htaccess), unless otherwise stated.

How to recover ext4 from GPT partitioned disk - Information Technology

http://howto.tipit.info/pc/linux/104/how-to-recover-ext4-from-gpt-partitioned-disk/

Saved by uncleflo on August 9th, 2014.

Hard drive sizes had increased dramatically in last several years, but block device drivers are still outdated. For hard drives more than 1TB currently seems to be an advantage to use GPT instead of legacy MBR partition table. You can see more details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table. One of the inevitable disadvantage of GPT is the possibility of corruption by using outdated partition editor like cfdisk, or other disk tools, even without any intention to modify the partition. It happened recently on one 1.5TB WD Caviar Green with GPT and one ext4 partition full of data.

iis7 - show php error message on IIS 7 - Server Fault

http://serverfault.com/questions/69839/show-php-error-message-on-iis-7

Saved by uncleflo on December 11th, 2012.

I am using IIS as a webserver on my development machine for PHP webdevelopment. Or at least, I am trying to. When there is a syntax error in a PHP script and I open that file in my webbrowser, I just get an 503 "internal server error" and the default IIS error page for this error. Some browsers dont open that file at all, possibly because of the 503 HTTP Response Header. I would like IIS to act in that case just like the apache webserver: display the PHP file with the error anyway, so that the error message gets printed out. How can this be done?
