The diary of a Cyber Security Officer. Cyber Security, Security Operations Center (SOC), hacking, transparency and digital human rights. This is an alternative model to understand the Information Security maturity level of a medium/large company. This is based just on my experience in companies and therefore it's to be used just as a reference. Salaries are for London based permanent employees. I don't pretend this model to be very accurate but can be used as a starting point to understand the maturity with one simple question: who will lead the information security?

A sense of belonging may sound like a small thing. Yet it fuels you as much as food and water because it doesn't just feed your body, it feeds your mind and soul. The stronger the sense of belonging - the stronger you become. Sure, you could look for belonging in a football team or club, but the sense of belonging you'll find in the Army - well, that's the next level. When you've trained together side by side, learnt things no classroom can teach you and fought with each other, for each other - that creates a bond like no other. A bond that lasts a lifetime.

Listed below are staff whose salaries and remuneration are published quarterly by the BBC. In 2009 it was agreed with the BBC Trust that the BBC would publish the salaries, total remuneration, Declaration of Personal Interests, expenses, gifts and hospitality for all senior managers who have a full time equivalent salary £150,000 or more or who sit on a major divisional board. Noah Kagan was fired as one of the first employees of Facebook and he left probably $100,000,000 behind if he had stayed. Then he was fired early on as an employee of Mint.com, which later got bought by Intuit. SO I decided to call him. I rarely leave my house so sometimes my only interactions are when I call strangers.

By Leo Kelion Technology reporter. Valve office Valve believes high-performance workers tend to self-improve without a need for managers. Welcome to Flatland. Imagine a company where everyone is equal and managers don't exist. A place where employees sit where they want, choose what to work on and decide each other's pay. Then, once a year, everyone goes on holiday together.

Internships have received a lot of publicity lately, and not all of it has been good. There has been much public debate about graduates being exploited by employers who are reportedly using a rolling programme of unpaid placements as an alternative to taking on a salaried employee. There have also been reports of internships at top city firms being ‘auctioned off’ to the highest bidder and of young people being expected to work long hours without even their food and travel expenses being covered.

I'm the owner of a business with about 30-40 employees. Recently, I found out that one of my employees has been having an affair with my wife. The employee has worked for me for 4 years. I felt like I was his mentor, since I recruited straight from university, taught him the ropes, and promoted him to a leadership role for one of our main products. My wife has since left me. I've spoken to him, and he says he's sorry about what's happened but he's also not leaving. He says his relationship with my wife should not be a work matter and he's put too much work into the company to just get fired just because I'm the boss.
