Social media networks are continuously adding cool little features here and there, and it can be tough to keep up -- especially if there's no big announcement. For instance, did you know you can reorder the sections on your Facebook business Page? That you can embed a SlideShare presentation directly into a tweet? That you can add hidden relationship notes to your LinkedIn connections? (That one's my favorite.) There are so many cool things our favorite social networks can do that may have fallen through the cracks. To help you discover these hidden treasures, we rounded up 20 of the lesser-known features on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Check 'em out.

Facebook Halts Beacon, Gives $9.5M to Settle Lawsuit | PCWorld

http://www.pcworld.com/article/184029/facebook_halts_beacon_gives_9_5_million_to_settle_lawsuit.html

Saved by uncleflo on September 16th, 2014.

Facebook has agreed to shut down a program that sparked a lawsuit alleging privacy violations, and set up a $9.5 million fund for a nonprofit foundation that will support online privacy, safety and security. The lawsuit centers around Facebook's Beacon program, which let third-party Web sites distribute "stories" about users to Facebook. Beacon was launched in November 2007 and less than a year later plaintiffs filed a class action lawsuit "alleging that Facebook and its affiliates did not give users adequate notice and choice about Beacon and the collection and use of users’ personal information."

Noah Kagan was fired as one of the first employees of Facebook and he left probably $100,000,000 behind if he had stayed. Then he was fired early on as an employee of Mint.com, which later got bought by Intuit. SO I decided to call him. I rarely leave my house so sometimes my only interactions are when I call strangers.
