According to France’s national aviation authority, the French Civil Aviation Authority, flying a drone is legal in France, but we recommend being aware of and compliant with the drone regulations listed below before doing so. If you’d like to contact the French Civil Aviation Authority directly before you travel with any questions you might have, message them on Twitter: @DGAC France is a part of the European Union and therefore must abide by the drone regulations put in place by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). In addition to these regulations, France also has regulations that are country-specific. Based on our research and interpretation of the laws, here are the most important rules to know for flying a drone within the European Union. There are three operational categories that determine drone regulations based on the weight of the drone and the intended operation. This section will only cover the Open Category, to see all European Union laws and categories, click here.

In addition to the UK’s civil and military aerodromes, there are hundreds of smaller, grass airfields set up by private individuals (termed ‘farm strips’). If you own suitable land, it’s possible to set up your own – of course, planning restrictions and practical considerations apply. We outline some of them here. Naturally, we suggest you obtain professional advice before flying from your land – however, if you do own a suitable portion of real estate, you can operate your aircraft from it for up to 28 days per year without planning permission, providing it’s safe to do. If the usage exceeds that, then you’ll need to apply to your Local Authority for change of use permission. Airfields operating under the 28 day rule are classified as ‘unlicensed fields’. This isn’t to say they’re illegal, but rather that they haven’t been subject to a Civil Aviation Authority survey; which quantifies and assesses approach obstacles, runway surfaces & length, and so forth. Your farm strips is therefore likely to be more challenging to fly in and out of – but, as most farm strip flyers will tell you, therein lies the challenge!

In the early years of the new millennium, there was a limited set of options for anyone who wanted to enjoy music online: downloading illegally from P2P file-sharing services, or spending money on digital downloads that you could only use on one specific device. In the rise of more permissive models and movements such as Open Source and the FreeCulture Movement, new ideas on how to digitally share creative works came to life. Creative Commons brought an alternative to the automatic “all-rights reserved” copyright, eventually leading a small group of people in Luxembourg to found in 2004 the pioneering website Jamendo.com, the first platform to legally share music for free from any creator under Creative Commons licenses. Jamendo is all about connecting musicians and music lovers from all over the world. Our goal is to bring together a worldwide community of independent music, creating experience and value around it.

The process to follow when applying to the CAA for an operational authorisation (a permission or an exemption) depends on the relative complexity of the authorisation that you are seeking: Applications for relatively ‘simple’ operational authorisations, which are commonly referred to as a ‘Standard Permission’, are addressed via an online application process: A ‘Standard Permission’ enables a person to conduct commercial operations with a small unmanned aircraft (drone) and also permits operations within a congested area. Applicants will be required to provide all documents and payment online (credit /debit card only ) before submitting their application. Applications for more complex operational authorisations, commonly referred to as ‘Non-Standard Permissions’, or those that require a specific Exemption from the Air Navigation Order are addressed via a more traditional ‘paper based’ application form, the SRG 1320.

This article aims at providing an overview, setting FinTech services into a commercial and technical context. During the 2010s, many financial services emerged which can be grouped as "Fintech". However it is regulations as the European Payment Services Directive, which promise to open the gateways for rapid growth through a legally enforced deregulation, as they break up the formerly monolithic services and turn them into distributed and decentralized Cloud-based value chains, where Banking is provided online as-a-service. An evolution like the Telecommunication sector during the 1990s and 2000s is likely to follow, with a fragmented, more dynamic, more competitive and more value-adding financial market.

Plans to keep a record of UK citizens' online activities face a challenge from tech firms seeking to offer ways to hide people's browser histories. Internet providers will soon be required to record which services their customers' devices connect to - including websites and messaging apps. The Home Office says it will help combat terrorism, but critics have described it as a "snoopers' charter". Critics of the law have said hackers could get access to the records.

The heterogeneity in a composite material is introduced due to not only its bi-phase or in some cases multi-phase composition, but also laminations. This leads to a distinctly different stress strain behaviour in the case of laminates. The anisotropy caused due to fibre orientations and the resulting extension-shear and bending-twisting coupling as well as the extension-bending coupling developed due to unsymmetric lamination add to the complexities. A clear understanding of the constitutive equations of a composite laminate is thus desirable before these are used in analysis and design of composite structures. In this chapter, we first introduce to the readers the basic constitutive equations for a general three-dimensional anisotropic material with and without material symmetry, elastic constants and compliances and their relations to engineering constants, as well as transformation laws for elastic constants and compliances for both three and two-dimensional cases.

If a government proposes to abandon one of the fundamental principles of justice, there had better be a powerful reason. Equality before the law is not ditched lightly. Surely? Well, read this and judge for yourself. The UK government, like that of the US and 13 other EU members, wants to set up a separate judicial system, exclusively for the use of corporations. While the rest of us must take our chances in the courts, corporations across the EU and US will be allowed to sue governments before a tribunal of corporate lawyers. They will be able to challenge the laws they don’t like, and seek massive compensation if these are deemed to affect their “future anticipated profits”.

Snell's law (also known as the Snell–Descartes law and the law of refraction) is a formula used to describe the relationship between the angles of incidence and refraction, when referring to light or other waves passing through a boundary between two different isotropic media, such as water, glass, or air. In optics, the law is used in ray tracing to compute the angles of incidence or refraction, and in experimental optics to find the refractive index of a material. The law is also satisfied in metamaterials, which allow light to be bent "backward" at a negative angle of refraction with a negative refractive index.

Redscan enables businesses to manage their IT security risks by providing a subscription service that combines the people, process, technology, and intelligence needed to proactively identify and manage threats and breaches. The IT security challenge facing most businesses today is that cyber-attacks are increasingly advanced and too easily evade traditional signature-based defences such as next generation firewall, IPS and anti-virus. Organisations need to be able to identify and stop these attacks quickly before they cause significant damage. However, the time, resource, and cost to do this effectively is too high.

John Harvey-Jones, the business guru and former head of ICI, in his book Making it Happen: Reflections on Leadership, said that he never regarded a dismissal as the employee’s fault but rather that of ICI’s management. Since he was the top guy, he regarded every instance when he had to let staff go as his fault. Whilst it never does to beat one’s self up over every business decision, it is a good starting point. If management consider that it’s their fault that people have to be made redundant, it means that there is the necessary level of humility in place, and it is likely therefore that the motivation is there to treat staff fairly. Fair treatment and due process are the tenets needed to secure a simple, sound redundancy and one over which there can be little if any cause for a staff member to take an employment tribunal case.

(Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin described the former U.S. intelligence contractor sought by Washington on espionage charges as a "strange guy" but said he could rest easy that he would not be handed over to U.S. authorities. U.S. President Barack Obama withdrew from a bilateral summit with Putin last month after Moscow granted asylum to Edward Snowden who had leaked details of secret U.S. government surveillance programmes. "He is a strange guy," Putin said of Snowden in an interview with Russian state television and the Associated Press released on Wednesday. "I don't get what he is thinking."

I'm the owner of a business with about 30-40 employees. Recently, I found out that one of my employees has been having an affair with my wife. The employee has worked for me for 4 years. I felt like I was his mentor, since I recruited straight from university, taught him the ropes, and promoted him to a leadership role for one of our main products. My wife has since left me. I've spoken to him, and he says he's sorry about what's happened but he's also not leaving. He says his relationship with my wife should not be a work matter and he's put too much work into the company to just get fired just because I'm the boss.

The world is changing. The Pirate Party understands that the law needs to change to match the realities of life in the 21st century. We have 3 core policies: Reform copyright and patent law. We want to legalise non-commercial file sharing and reduce the excessive length of copyright protection, while ensuring that when creative works are sold, it's the artists who benefit, not monopoly rights holders. We want a patent system that doesn't stifle innovation or make life saving drugs so expensive that patients die. End the excessive surveillance, profiling, tracking and monitoring of innocent people by Government and big businesses. Ensure that everyone has real freedom of speech and real freedom to enjoy and participate in our shared culture.
