The French countryside is home to a wonderful array of bewitchingly beautiful and tranquil towns where you can relax, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a slower pace of life. From arty adventures and fairytale scenes, to fortified hilltop strongholds, here are nine of the most stunning hidden villages in France. Serving as a gateway to the Gorges du Verdon, this pretty village lies at the base of dramatic cliffs on either side of the Adou river. It’s famous for its decorative faience pottery and the 14th Century Notre Dame de Beauvoir Chapel, which is perched at the top of a steep trail. Strung between the cliffs is a shining golden star, said to have been hung by a knight, which protects the village. Rumoured to be the setting that inspired Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Riquewihr is an enchanting village of winding lanes and secluded courtyards. The colourful 16th century houses that line its streets are full of character thanks to their traditional architecture and flower-adorned balconies. Riquewihr is also known for its outstanding wine, so drop by one of the many tasting rooms during your visit.

This site was created primarily for the prospective or newly established boat builder but has proven to be useful to boat owners. It is intended to be a reference for the beginning boat builder who has decided to build boats and sell them. It does not tell you how to build boats, although it has many links to such sites on Ike's List. It does tell you what things you need to know if you are building or planning to build boats and sell them. This is not just for wood boats, or fiberglass boats, but for all boats. The rules, regulations and standards here apply to all recreational boats. They apply primarily to small craft under 60 feet but that is not a hard and fast rule. For instance, all recreational boats are required to have a Hull Identification Number regardless of size. Another instance is gasoline fuel systems. The rules apply to all recreational boats with permanently installed gasoline engines. I will state at the beginning of each subject what it applies to because Federal Regulations define what vessels each regulation applies to and ABYC standards do so as well.

Aluminum alloys are lightweight and corrosion-resistant in marine environments, making the superior material for use in the shipbuilding industry. There are two aspects that make general aluminum welding different from welding steel in the shipbuilding industry, and both are related to the fact that much of the welding is performed outdoors: Both aspects will be discussed in more detail on the next few pages. Know Which Aluminum Alloy You Are WeldingIt isn’t enough to know that you are welding aluminum. Welding professionals have to know which alloy is about to be welded, and they have to know the correct filler metal to use. The most common alloys used in shipbuilding are the Al-Mg 5XXX sheet alloys and the Al-Mg-Si 6XXX extrusion alloys, primarily because of their excellent resistance to corrosion.

We turn to the professionals to stop the small leak in our dinghy and learn some good tips to repairing a hypalon dinghy. Thanks so much A Sailor's Place http://bit.ly/ASailorsPlace I think the biggest mistake we made was not cutting down the brush bristles so when I applied the glue it was a little thick and globby. I also may not have ground down the material good enough. I hope this helps you learn a bit about repairing a Hypalon dinghy like the professionals.

Go for the cheapest and hope you don't need to claim, or go for the most expensive because that must be the best? Or take a more logical approach with our handy checklist. Here are some issues to consider when comparing policies. If an accident happens because a worn out part fails, is the part excluded or is the claim rejected? If there is a No Claims Bonus, is it protected at its maximum? If you have a claim, what is the effect on NCB in the following year? Do the insurers need a condition survey? If not, and your boat is more than say, 10 years old, why not? Is the policy an Agreed Fixed Value policy?
If a ‘New for Old’ deduction can be applied, does it apply to parts and materials only, or to all costs including labour costs?

We live in the age of pixels. As designers & developers of the web, pixels can be both our friends and our enemies. We want everything to look nice and sharp for anyone who uses any of the websites we work on, but we need to keep file sizes down for performance. There is pretty much only one way to go with icons, logos and illustrations on the web — SVG. Scalable Vector Graphics can look crisp at all screen resolutions, can have super small file sizes, and can be easily edited and modified. This guide aims to give a practical overview of how you can use SVGs on your websites — with some tips and tricks along the way to get the most out of them.

We at LTP have closely watched and observed the FinTech section. We have covered many developments in the FinTech space, and one of them is APIs. We have covered companies providing APIs services and it is now time to look at APIs from a different angle. Therefore, in this article, we have segregated APIs provided by different companies on the basis of their application in different segments. As we all know, APIs are the infrastructure that developers use to build applications to access content and other services. As FinTech startups continue to disrupt traditional financial services, banks are also waking up to the fact that offering an open API—where developers can latch on and create very specific customized app solutions—is the way to engage and retain their customers in the future.

I've been investigating a few of the JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone.js and Batman.js for a while and whilst I really like them, I have one niggling thing that I keep coming back to. That issue is accessibility. As a web developer I've always tried to make my websites and applications with accessibility in mind, especially using the idea of progressive enhancement. Clearly out of the box these new JS frameworks don't gracefully degrade, so I was wondering what are other developers thoughts on this issue and what are you doing about it. After all the accessibility of a website / app isn't really an optional thing as it's part of the law in many countries.
