jParallax turns nodes into absolutely positioned layers that move in response to the mouse. Depending on their dimensions these layers move at different rates, in a parallaxy kind of way. With a bit of CSS you can either set up windows to see these layers through, or leave them free to roam about.

Parallax scrolling is an interesting technique, where, as you scroll, the background images translate slower than the content in the foreground, creating the illusion of 3D depth. As I planned to re-design my personal website, my first goal was to write the shortest and simplest code to achieve maximum awesomeness! I'll show you how I did it. In this tutorial, I'll teach you the simplest parallax scrolling technique you've ever came across, so let's dig in!

Since 2011, our group of friends have been using the same email thread to keep in touch with one another, post-college, while scattered across the states. When we realized that our on-going conversation was nearing its 10,000TH reply, we decided it was time to take a look at the monolith we had created. The data seen here is gathered from our sprawling, rambling, (and often incoherent) chain.

Stand-alone parallax scrolling JavaScript library for mobile (Android, iOS, etc.) and desktop in about 12k minified. Designer friendly. No JavaScript skills needed. Just plain CSS and HTML. Actually, skrollr is much more than "just" parallax scrolling. It's a full-fledged scrolling animation library. In fact, you can use it and still have no parallax scrolling at all. But I wanted to sound hip and use some buzz-words. By the way, skrollr leverages HTML5 and CSS3

In a country where 47 percent of girls are married before they turn 18, that’s a distinct possibility—one that didn’t sit well with Prakhar Jain, Sumit Sond and Nikhil Guha, communications designers at ad agency Havas Worldwide’s New Delhi office. So the three teamed up with the NGO Child Survival India and developed their own bindi—a white one—to protest child marriage and bring awareness to a campaign designed to help young girls avoid the practice.

With Apple incorporating the parallax effect into its new iPhone design, it has become increasingly popular to use everywhere. The idea behind it, is that it tricks the brain into perceiving the screen differently than what it actually is. Because of HTML5 and CSS3, developers can use different angles and 3D effects that can create a pleasing user experience if done correctly. Many websites now use parallax scrolling, which shows the background moving at a slower rate than the foreground, sometimes creating an illusion that the content is ‘popping’ out of the screen. We’ve put together a collection of fantastic templates that you can use to get this cool effect for your website now. Let us know what you think!

The way that we that we navigate our websites is extremely important. The reason being that the user experience and the way in which they interact with the website makes or breaks the usability of the website. If someone cannot get around on your site, then it’s useless. If someone can get around and is easily able to find what they are looking for, that makes a major difference.
