A few months back, I decided to make a permanent myspace account so that I could easily view pictures of random girls whenever I please without creating a new account each time. I also had a number of friends on there and figured I would see what all the hype was about. Myspace is a site for keeping up with friends, meeting new people, and even getting laid (sorry ladies, I'm taken.) It allows you to set up a profile/web page with a limited ability to make it look and feel how you wanted. Too limiting. I couldn't even fit a good line into my "headline" without taking words out and sounding like G.W.B. trying to respond to an arbitrary question. Hell, I couldn't even fit more than 12 glamour shots on my photos page. Like an illegal alien with a plan, I ventured to evade these limiting borders.

Air-augmented rockets (also known as rocket-ejector, ramrocket, ducted rocket, integral rocket/ramjets, or ejector ramjets) use the supersonic exhaust of some kind of rocket engine to further compress air collected by ram effect during flight to use as additional working mass, leading to greater effective thrust for any given amount of fuel than either the rocket or a ramjet alone. It represents a hybrid class of rocket/ramjet engines, similar to a ramjet, but able to give useful thrust from zero speed, and is also able in some cases to operate outside the atmosphere, with fuel efficiency not worse than both a comparable ramjet or rocket at every point.

Parallax scrolling is an interesting technique, where, as you scroll, the background images translate slower than the content in the foreground, creating the illusion of 3D depth. As I planned to re-design my personal website, my first goal was to write the shortest and simplest code to achieve maximum awesomeness! I'll show you how I did it. In this tutorial, I'll teach you the simplest parallax scrolling technique you've ever came across, so let's dig in!

VirtualDJ is the application that DJs use when they want to use a computer to play their music. Because being a DJ is more than just pressing play, DJs cannot just use iTunes or Media Player to perform a mix. They need special controls like crossfaders, loops, effects, etc, in order to "mix" the songs. VirtualDJ is the most used DJ software on the planet, with more than 150 million downloads, and is used by everybody from bedroom DJs to international superstars. Unlike some competitors, it doesn't rely on your years of experience learning how to DJ, but instead uses modern technology to help you mix better by focusing on the artistic side of the mix.

Parallax scrolling is a popular design technique used on websites in order to create an illusion of movement on the screen, to help engage website visitors and enhance the user experience. This cool 3D-like design concept allows users to scroll up and down a page at different speeds, while images on various layers move at different rates to give the page more visual depth and dimension to give the user a more seamless experience. If you’re looking for some inspiration or considering using this technique on your own website, make sure to check out our amazing showcase of parallax examples:

With Apple incorporating the parallax effect into its new iPhone design, it has become increasingly popular to use everywhere. The idea behind it, is that it tricks the brain into perceiving the screen differently than what it actually is. Because of HTML5 and CSS3, developers can use different angles and 3D effects that can create a pleasing user experience if done correctly. Many websites now use parallax scrolling, which shows the background moving at a slower rate than the foreground, sometimes creating an illusion that the content is ‘popping’ out of the screen. We’ve put together a collection of fantastic templates that you can use to get this cool effect for your website now. Let us know what you think!

Parallax is a difference in the in the apparent position of an object viewed along different lines of sight. The term derives from the Greek word parallaxis, meaning alteration. In web design, the parallax effect is a relatively new trend. The effect itself has been around for a while, but lately is becoming more used and talked about. The Parallax effect or parallax scrolling in web design is the technique that features layered images that move around the website in different speeds/perspectives creating a nice and interesting 3D illusion. We gathered some examples of websites using the parallax effect to inspire you. This effect certainly makes scrolling around websites an interesting experience.

They hover and skim above the water at speeds of up to 250 miles an hour, while carrying heavier loads of cargo and troops than any airplane could - the Ekranoplans, or "Wing-in-Ground" (WIG) vehicles are possibly the most exciting and strange-looking transportation technology ever invented by men. Developed mostly by the Soviets during the Cold War (by the Rostislav Alexeev design firm), some ekranoplans were over 500 feet in length and had the estimated weight of over 500 tons! And yet they skimmed over the waves with grace, at high speeds, able to negotiate stormy conditions, and unseen by the radar - all thanks to the aerodynamic principle known as the "ground effect".

The main criteria of this post is to help you add a cool effect called the “cover flow/open flow” effect to any of your iphone apps. This is cool in two ways actually. One it adds animation kind of effect to your app and the other, its very easy to build too. I got to learn about this effect when I was working on my “pianos” app where in i’ll have bunch of animals to select which would be displayed as a menu using this “cover flow” effect. Once a particular animal is selected your piano view for that animal comes up. My piano app will be out soon and you can check that out. The source for this post is the link displayed below.

A tutorial on demonstrating how the development of a flash book should look like. Now we want to draw the top of the turning page. Identify what child represents the front of the turning page. As before, create a bitmap the size of the page and copy the child into it. Construct a polygon consisting of the top and bottom of the book's spine and the fold intersection points. Use our top page bitmap to fill in the top page polygon. This one is hard to spot. Notice that when you turn the page, the top of the turning page doesn't dissapear, and the right hand page doesn't show through. go back and look at the previous step if can't see the difference. Turn the page, either with the buttons to the left, or click and drag on the corner of the book to see the effect.

Adding graphics to your applications can make them more attractive and usable. In many cases, you might want to add graphics that are vector-based, and not import images that don’t scale well. You can create vector based graphics in Flex by using one of the following APIs: FXG, MXML graphics, FXG is a declarative syntax for defining static graphics. You typically use a graphics tool such as Adobe Illustrator to export an FXG document, and then use the FXG document as an optimized component in your application. FXG graphics are used by the mobile skin classes because they are so lightweight.
