The first round of JWST data was made public just one day after the release of the first images. In this video, I show the best method for downloading the data using the MAST archive, and then give an overview of how I went about processing! This work is based [in part] on observations made with the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope. The data were obtained from the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes at the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc., under NASA contract NAS 5-03127 for JWST.

Converting cave survey notes into a finished map With a set of cave survey sketch notes in hand, the next steps for converting those notes into a beautiful and accurate map can be daunting. Some cave cartographers spend more time in front of a computer screen than they do underground. Historically survey data was compiled with a calculator, and maps were drafted on mylar sheets with pencil and rapidiograph. Virtually everyone today is using cave survey data management and digital drafting software for the improved efficiency, quality, and ability to make changes and updates. In most cases the data management and drafting are handled by different applications. I recommend developing an efficient workflow for handling new survey data.

Financial Times one pager for overviewing the growth of the Corona Virus. Governments’ stark daily figures on the spread of coronavirus are difficult to compare across countries, and may be significant undercounts. But the data needed to analyse the more reliable and comparable excess mortality metric are only available in a few jurisdictions, leaving these official case and death counts the best available data for much of the world. Deaths are somewhat more reliable, but remain problematic because countries have different rules for what deaths to include in their official numbers. The most notable difference between countries’ Covid mortality figures is whether or not they include deaths outside hospitals, particularly in care homes. Some countries like France and the UK have even changed which deaths they include during the course of the epidemic. For either measure, we use a seven-day rolling average to adjust for the impact of administrative delays to reporting new data over weekends.

The 1st Choice for Aluminium, Stainless & Brass online. Magnesium is the main element used in the composition of the 5000 series grades of aluminium. The 5000 series grades of aluminium are non heat-treatable alloys. The 5000 series grades also have excellent resistance to corrosion caused by saltwater, for this reason they are often referred to as the Marine Grades of aluminium. Grade 5083 has the highest strength of all of the non heat treatable alloys, although it is not as strong or as hard as the more common grade 6082. Grade 5083 is primarily available in plate form, and is most commonly available in O condition. Grade 5754 is a medium strength alloy. For comparison it is not a strong as grades 6082 or 5083, but 5754 is stronger than grade 5251. Grade 5754 is most commonly used to produce aluminium 5 bar treadplate (often referred to as aluminium chequer plate). Grade 5251 is a medium strength alloy, usually supplied in sheet form, and is most commonly supplied in temper H22. Previously known as NS4, grade 5251 has many similar attributes to grade 1050 aluminium sheet and is probably the 2nd most popular grade of aluminium sheet used in the UK today.

We live in the age of pixels. As designers & developers of the web, pixels can be both our friends and our enemies. We want everything to look nice and sharp for anyone who uses any of the websites we work on, but we need to keep file sizes down for performance. There is pretty much only one way to go with icons, logos and illustrations on the web — SVG. Scalable Vector Graphics can look crisp at all screen resolutions, can have super small file sizes, and can be easily edited and modified. This guide aims to give a practical overview of how you can use SVGs on your websites — with some tips and tricks along the way to get the most out of them.

Some great ideas are born in a garage. Others in a dorm room. Or over pizza and beer. Some form like the perfect wave. ServiceNow is a great idea born at the beach—San Diego, 2004, to be exact. A little south of Silicon Valley. By founder Fred Luddy and a small tribe of techies and surfers. Fred believed that getting simple stuff done at work shouldn’t be so hard. And that the complex stuff should be easier to manage. He envisioned a world where anyone could create workflows that worked for—not against—them. He and his crew understood the cloud when clouds were still…well, just clouds. So they built ServiceNow, a cloud‑based platform that simplifies the way work gets done. Today, every enterprise is becoming a technology company, creating unprecedented challenges, opportunities, and complexity. ServiceNow lets them run smarter, faster, better. And it helps people spend their time on work that’s meaningful, not menial. Because work shouldn’t be so hard. It should feel like riding a wave. That’s ServiceNow. We make work flow.

This article aims at providing an overview, setting FinTech services into a commercial and technical context. During the 2010s, many financial services emerged which can be grouped as "Fintech". However it is regulations as the European Payment Services Directive, which promise to open the gateways for rapid growth through a legally enforced deregulation, as they break up the formerly monolithic services and turn them into distributed and decentralized Cloud-based value chains, where Banking is provided online as-a-service. An evolution like the Telecommunication sector during the 1990s and 2000s is likely to follow, with a fragmented, more dynamic, more competitive and more value-adding financial market.

It is the weekend, late at night, or first thing Monday morning and you receive the dreaded phone call or SMS: “The application is down! We need all hands to figure this out!” After spending hours trying to track down the issue by reviewing logs, looking at the currently deployed code, and hundreds of IM exchanges, you finally find it – someone deployed a patch to production late Friday and it broke an important part of your application. You have probably been there. While tracking down issues can be difficult for any application, cloud native applications are particularly difficult. Applications are deployed to multiple servers across any number of zones. Servers have been created and destroyed. And the amount of traffic you must handle makes it hard to read log files (even centrally managed log files). So, how do you solve the need for monitoring in a cloud native architecture? While every application’s needs are different, we must first understand the options available to us. This article provides an overview of the goals of monitoring and the types of cloud native monitoring available, to help provide some insight into monitoring your Realscale applications.

Work for CaesarIA began in 2009, it was a wide screen mod for Caesar III. In 2012 development moved to a standalone game with its own engine. In 2014, the game was released in steam, but still open-source software. It is an open-source remake of the popular citybuilder/economic strategy - Caesar III, videogame by Empressions Games. Now, CaesarIA is still in development phase, which means an early experimental stage. It is playable, and you can already download and test the game, but some features yet still missing. When CaesarIA will be released? It is very hard to quetion. Even after we are done implementing all the features, we will want to continue work for new features and testing. Information about release will be posted.
