Seen Jeremy's williams jetrib guide and after 4 seasons of sorting out a now 20yo Avon jetrib, I decided to write down a maintenance to do (and how to) list of issues I had to address to keep a well maintained 20yo seawater jetrib in reasonable and reliable condition. Any corrections, additions, comments welcomed! First of all, a couple of links that will help identify parts or understand how the thing works! Offshore or low-tax solution for software developer | OffshoreCorpTalk

Bank Accounts, Company Formations, Tax Planning, Residency Solutions, and more. I have been googeling lot of information about offshore or low-tax solutions and I found couple of useful info, but I still can't create the ideal structure, I think I am still missing some info, so I decided to ask here for an advice. I will describe my situation. I am doing turnkey software products. It can be sold by different ways. I can always sell it to my customers as a Software License (Intellectual Property), or I can invoice and sell it as turnkey programming hours, or I can sell it as ready-made product. It depends what's better for me, my customers are tolerant to me we have very close relationships and I found that some countries have tax-friendly strategies for Intellectual Properties for example, so that's why I am mentioning this. All my activities are online and remote, I also travel a lot. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on mood. I have customers mostly from EU (private persons) and I am also EU citizen with EU personal tax domicile.

Saved by uncleflo on June 23rd, 2017.

Rust is a systems programming language that runs blazingly fast, prevents segfaults, and guarantees thread safety. If you haven’t seen Rust at all yet, the first thing you should read is the introduction to the book, The Rust Programming Language. It will give you a good idea of what Rust is like, show you how to install it, and explain its syntax and concepts. Upon completing the book, you’ll be an intermediate Rust developer, and will have a good grasp of the fundamental ideas behind Rust.

Since 2011, our group of friends have been using the same email thread to keep in touch with one another, post-college, while scattered across the states. When we realized that our on-going conversation was nearing its 10,000TH reply, we decided it was time to take a look at the monolith we had created. The data seen here is gathered from our sprawling, rambling, (and often incoherent) chain.

The C10K problem

http://www.kegel.com/c10k.html

Saved by uncleflo on May 17th, 2013.

It's time for web servers to handle ten thousand clients simultaneously, don't you think? After all, the web is a big place now. And computers are big, too. You can buy a 1000MHz machine with 2 gigabytes of RAM and an 1000Mbit/sec Ethernet card for $1200 or so. Let's see - at 20000 clients, that's 50KHz, 100Kbytes, and 50Kbits/sec per client. It shouldn't take any more horsepower than that to take four kilobytes from the disk and send them to the network once a second for each of twenty thousand clients. (That works out to $0.08 per client, by the way. Those $100/client licensing fees some operating systems charge are starting to look a little heavy!) So hardware is no longer the bottleneck. In 1999 one of the busiest ftp sites, cdrom.com, actually handled 10000 clients simultaneously through a Gigabit Ethernet pipe. As of 2001, that same speed is now being offered by several ISPs, who expect it to become increasingly popular with large business customers.

Outbound calls keep incessantly retrying

Julian Broudou 26 days ago: Outbound calls keep incessantly retrying: I'm using the API to make outbound calls (http://www.twilio.com/docs/api/rest/m...). The problem I am faced with is if the person receiving the call declines to accept the call, Twilio will call the same person again seconds later and will keep doing so until the person is forced to accept the call. From the documentation, I don't see where I can prevent this from happening.

Double VPN connection: openvpn over vpnc

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1767863

Saved by uncleflo on July 18th, 2011.

i have the following situation: In my wireless network, i have to connect to a cisco vpn (with vpnc) to access the internet. Now I want to route all traffic through a second vpn (with openvpn) for anonymity purposes. So this is what it should look like: my computer, wlan0 --> vpnc vpn --> openvpn vpnc --> internet. now, when I connect to the vpnc vpn (with kvpnc, or with vpnc-connect) i can access the internet and get an IP, say "IP a.b.c.d" on a device tun0. if I now create the openvpn network (with openvpn config.ovpn), it creates another device, tun1, with another IP, say "IP e.f.g.h". But if I then start firefox or anything else accessing the internet, it seems to use tun0, so my IP is reported as "IP a.b.c.d". I want to access the internet via the openvpnc connection, though (tun1 and IP e.f.g.h) How can I achieve that?
