The InterProtect® products were introduced in 1985 for the repair and prevention of gelcoat blisters and quickly became the product of choice for professionals and do-it yourselfers alike. In the ensuing years it has become the standard by which everything else is measured. A study undertaken in 2001 reported that boats with InterProtect System on the bottom had a higher resale value than boats that did not. InterProtect has proven itself to be a universal primer. Below the waterline it can be used for corrosion protection on all underwater metals for hulls, keels, trim tabs and running gear as well as for blister protection and as part of the Ultimate No Sand System for new fiberglass boats. Above the waterline InterProtect is used on fiberglass and all metals. The InterProtect System was designed to repair hulls which have experienced gelcoat blistering. However, the best time to attack hull blistering is before it happens. Taking preventative action before a problem occurs greatly reduces the likelihood of an expensive repair and has been shown to increase resale value of your boat. If you’re buying a new boat, protect your investment with the InterProtect System before it ever goes into the water.

A new map shows where people have the lowest impact—but are those the best places to protect? A newly created map reveals the “wildest” places on Earth—places where humans have the lowest impact. The findings could be used to support the push to set aside half of Earth for nature, its authors say. “If you want to know where in the world you can find a place that has not yet been transformed by agriculture, infrastructure, or settlements, [this map] is where to find it,” says Erle Ellis, a global ecologist at the University of Maryland Baltimore County who contributed to the analysis. “There is a very strong consensus on where these places are.” The map, published today in the journal Global Change Biology, knits together four independently developed models for determining where humanity leaves its fingerprints, each using different indicators of activity.

The rough idea behind ToS;DR emerged during the 2011 Chaos Communication Camp near Berlin, with people from Unhosted a movement to create web apps that give users control over their valuable user data and privacy. In the summer of 2012, Hugo Roy (@hugoroyd) started the legal analysis and brought the project to life. Since then, more people have joined the team and have contributed through the reviewer community. Ultimately, all the work is transparent and the discussions happen in public. Our work is funded by non-profits organisations and individual donations and gets released as free software and open data. Avon Seasport was cleaned using Formula 88 degreaser and Clorox bleach. I used a 3m green scotch pad and a magic eraser. The rubrail was removed completely and sanded to reattach the rubstrake.We used Orca glue and used 80 grit diablo pads. It indicates how timber can provide a solution to many of the problems confronting dock, harbour and river board engineers and others, concerned with water construction. With a knowledge of the hazards to which timber may be exposed, and careful selection of the species with the most appropriate properties for the job, a satisfactory and long lasting structure can be obtained at relatively low cost. The principle functions of marine and fresh water structures where timber is utilized and which are described here are:- (a) The prevention of erosion of the sea coast and of river and canal banks. (b) The construction of wharfs, jetties, docks and dock gates, and the protection of such structures by fendering and rubbing pieces. (c) The construction of marinas and yacht havens.
