Cave Cartography - Overview and Workflow — Derek Bristol

https://www.derekbristol.com/cartography

Saved by uncleflo on January 17th, 2022.

Converting cave survey notes into a finished map With a set of cave survey sketch notes in hand, the next steps for converting those notes into a beautiful and accurate map can be daunting. Some cave cartographers spend more time in front of a computer screen than they do underground. Historically survey data was compiled with a calculator, and maps were drafted on mylar sheets with pencil and rapidiograph. Virtually everyone today is using cave survey data management and digital drafting software for the improved efficiency, quality, and ability to make changes and updates. In most cases the data management and drafting are handled by different applications. I recommend developing an efficient workflow for handling new survey data.

3D Printed Indexing Gears (MVMT 68): 7 Steps (with Pictures)

https://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Indexing-Gears/

Saved by uncleflo on December 20th, 2019.

This mechanism uses rotary motion to move a gear quickly and precisely into a fixed position. Using skateboard bearings, you can snap these parts together and use the action for all kinds of useful (or useless) machines. Using gears that have teeth and smooth gaps, you can make a gear spin and stop at just about any angle you want. This is similar to a geneva gear, but it's much simpler to 3D model and (I think) a bit easier to understand. This is the first in a series of 3D printed mechanisms modeled in Fusion 360 using skateboard bearings and 3D printed parts. The idea is that you'll be able to use the mechanisms to make all kinds of projects that use mechanical assemblies like robots or any other machine you might want to make.

BootSwatchr.com

http://bootswatchr.com/

Saved by uncleflo on April 11th, 2015.

Bootswatchr.com is a website where a bootstrap theme can be custom designed, using CSS Less variables. A quick update to let you all know that Bootswatchr is moving from Ubiquity Servers to Digital Ocean as of today. DNS is propagating, and I am keeping the old server up so that there should be plenty of time for propagation and we can hopefully avoid hiccups. This is very sudden and last minute. I want to assure you all that, for the time being, Bootswatchr isn’t going anywhere, this wasn’t a budget decision, and you shouldn’t lose any data. Your data is stored client side anyway.

18W MOSFET amplifier with npn transistor | TikZ example

http://www.texample.net/tikz/examples/mosfet/

Saved by uncleflo on September 16th, 2014.

This example make use of the circuitikz and siunitx packages for drawing a 18W MOSFET Amplifier for one-channel. You need to have those packages installed for compiling. During the last five days I added fifteen examples to the gallery. Some were sent by email (thank you!), some are from the TeX.SE and TeXwelt.de sites, question and answer sites with creative commons license. I bookmarked nice examples I noticed, and from time to time I’m adding such drawings here, with backlink to the original post. Now the gallery shows 371 drawings.
