All hearts and voices are welcome. Magically, after the week begins with a Harvest Moon, our event coincides with the Autumnal Equinox, as we move from Summer into Autumn, and light into darkness. Night and day are of equal length, and in perfect equilibrium - dark and light, masculine and feminine, inner and outer all in balance. It is:-a time of harvest, reaping the crops and fruits of the land and our labour-a time to give thanks for all our gifts - for the harvest, and each other. -a time to recognise the great boon of community-a time of pause and reflection, and the chance to think of what new seeds we will plant, and what we will let go of. What do we want to nourish us in the months ahead? What new world do we want to build together?

Few days ago, Apple introduced iPhone 6 Plus. The new iPhone substantially changes the way graphics are rendered on screen. We've made an infographic to demystify this. The downscaling ratio is 1920 / 2208 = 1080 / 1242 = 20 / 23. That means every 23 pixels from the original render have to be mapped to 20 physical pixels. In other words the image is scaled down to approximately 87% of its original size.

I'm relatively new to editing and FCP and I need some advice to get the best export output. I'm editing footage from a couple of different formats including Sony EX1 XDCAM footage (XDCAM HD 1080p25 and 1080i50) and Sony Z1 HDV 1080i50. The films I'm editing are between 2 and 5 minutes and I need the exported files to be no larger than 150mb. To get this size I lose a lot of quality. Can anyone guide me to getting crisp HD quality with this size file?

Apple has a long relationship with Adobe. In fact, we met Adobe’s founders when they were in their proverbial garage. Cover Flow is browsed using the on-screen scrollbar, mouse wheel, gestures, or by selecting a file from a list, which flips through the pages to bring the associated image into view. Here we have CoverScroll jQuery plugin, which is a CSS3 variant of the Apple’s CoverFlow design pattern. It’s very handy if you would like to showcase some pictures in this way.
