3D models are crucial components of digital production whether we talk about animation, gaming, architecture, industrial design or 3D printing industry. With a minimum of fuss, you can realize your creative ideas if you have the right 3D modeling software. From time to time, the beginners and home users find it difficult to turn the ideas into 3D prototypes and models as most 3D modeling programs are expensive and complicated to learn. People don’t prefer spending hundreds of dollars on software that are for small projects or occasional use. Often beginners don’t have the time and training essential to master the 3D modeling software. Many 3D modeling programs are accessible for beginners to change their ideas into a model. If these models are free, then it will be great for beginners. In this article, you will get acquainted with the best open source 3D modeling software that is free to use. But before that let’s discuss what 3D modeling software is and understand critical factors that will help you choose the best 3D modeling software.

Gear Generator is a tool for creating involute spur gears and download them in DXF or SVG format. In addition it let you compose full gear layouts with connetcted gears to design multiple gears system with control of the input/output ratio and rotation speed. Gears can be animated with various speed to demonstrate working mechanism. Why this tool was created? Just for fun. I'm working on a hobby project, a scale construction machine, which needed some spur gears, and I quickly made a simple spur gear creator script in Javascript with SVG output. As it was done, I couldn't stop, and I added more and more features, and finally I got this tool. It was a pleasure to code the whole thing, I'm a bit sad it is already done.

Your code works, but is it safe? When writing code that will run across hundreds if not thousands of websites, you should be extra cautious of how you handle data coming into WordPress and how it's then presented to the end user. This commonly comes up when building a settings page for your theme, creating and manipulating shortcodes, or saving and rendering extra data associated with a post.

GoJS is a feature-rich JavaScript library for implementing custom interactive diagrams and complex visualizations across modern web browsers and platforms. GoJS makes constructing JavaScript diagrams of complex nodes, links, and groups easy with customizable templates and layouts. GoJS offers many advanced features for user interactivity such as drag-and-drop, copy-and-paste, in-place text editing, tooltips, context menus, automatic layouts, templates, data binding and models, transactional state and undo management, palettes, overviews, event handlers, commands, and an extensible tool system for custom operations. GoJS is pure JavaScript, so users get interactivity without requiring round-trips to servers and without plugins. GoJS normally runs completely in the browser, rendering to an HTML5 Canvas element or SVG without any server-side requirements. GoJS does not depend on any JavaScript libraries or frameworks, so it should work with any HTML or JavaScript framework or with no framework at all. Build custom modeling environments and domain-specific visual languages using the powerful features of GoJS. Provide both a system editor and a read-only status monitor using shared code and templates. Simultaneously show alternative visualizations of the same data in different diagrams. Implement drill-down using expansion of subtrees and subgraphs or a detailed view in another diagram. Yet GoJS is remarkably simple for such a powerful and flexible system. Our thorough documentation introduces the basic concepts and demonstrate typical features that most apps want to offer. Nodes and links can be arbitrarily detailed according to the needs of the application. The API consists of only a few dozen important classes which encapsulate many useful features that interact with each other. There are many properties that permit simple customizations; some methods may be overridden for more complicated customizations.

SVG files, especially those exported from various editors, usually contain a lot of redundant and useless information. This can include editor metadata, comments, hidden elements, default or non-optimal values and other stuff that can be safely removed or converted without affecting the SVG rendering result.

Working in Flash and Actionscript, you will be familiar with the concepts of using the standard display list for drawing and animating content. Away3D versions earlier than 4.0 all relied on this standard display list to render objects to your scene, however since Flash Player 11.0 and Away3D 4.x you can now take advantage of GPU hardware accelerated graphics for rendering performance as commonly seen in games, allowing you to create complex and immersive experiences for the web and using Adobe AIR, on mobile devices as well.

When we started building DropSend, we decided to support all languages worldwide from the start. The interface is currently in English only, but the application can send, store, sort and process your data whatever language you want. As a result, we have a good number of customers out east. To support worldwide languages, you need to use UTF-8 encoding for your web pages, emails and application, rather than ISO 8859-1 or another common western encoding, since these don't support characters used in languages such as Japanese and Chinese.

The Blinn–Phong reflection model (also called the modified Phong reflection model) is a modification to the Phong reflection model developed by Jim Blinn. Blinn–Phong is the default shading model used in OpenGL and Direct3D's fixed-function pipeline (before Direct3D 10 and OpenGL 3.1), and is carried out on each vertex as it passes down the graphics pipeline; pixel values between vertices are interpolated by Gouraud shading by default, rather than the more computationally-expensive Phong shading.

Few days ago, Apple introduced iPhone 6 Plus. The new iPhone substantially changes the way graphics are rendered on screen. We've made an infographic to demystify this. The downscaling ratio is 1920 / 2208 = 1080 / 1242 = 20 / 23. That means every 23 pixels from the original render have to be mapped to 20 physical pixels. In other words the image is scaled down to approximately 87% of its original size.

Microsoft® Windows® XP introduces a new style in icon design. The following guidelines walk you through the steps of designing and creating Windows XP-style icons. The Windows XP icon style is all about fun, color, and energy—and, as there are now 32-bit versions of the icons, smooth edges. Each icon is rendered in a vector program and then manipulated in Adobe Photoshop to create a beautiful image. These guidelines are geared towards designers. We recommend you work with a good graphic designer, especially one with experience in using vector or 3D programs, to create your images.

FXG 2.0 describes an XML-based graphics interchange format for the Flash Platform. FXG contains high-level graphical and text primitives that can be used to create, group, transform and visually modify basic vector and bitmap shapes. The FXG rendering model follows very closely the Flash Player 10 rendering model and exposes all graphics capabilities of the Flash platform as well as offering expandable support to accommodate future capabilities of the Flash Player. The specification below dives into the technical details governing every element of FXG 2.0. For information on FXG 1.0, please refer to the FXG 1.0 Specification.
