This document and the APIs herein are subject to change at any time. We will version the API, but may deprecate early versions aggressively. Please wait at least one second between HTTP queries, or you are likely to get automatically throttled. If you are releasing a library to access the API, you must do this. Please watch for 500 or 999 errors and back-off appropriately. It means that you have been throttled. Please set your User-Agent to something identifiable. The default identifiers like Java/1.4.3 or lwp-perl etc tend to get banned from time to time. If you are releasing software or a service for other people to use, your software or service must not add any links without a user’s explicit direction. Likewise, you must not modify any urls except under the user’s explicit direction. API calls of Objects returns as an Xml object.

The goal of this lesson is to explain how sailboats work by exploring basic physics principles. At the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify the forces acting on a sailboat and explain how the combination of these forces results in the forward motion of a sailboat. Students should be familiar with vectors and be able to use them to represent forces and moments, and also should be familiar with using free body diagrams to represent forces and moments. A basic understanding of fluid flow and/or resistance might be helpful, but not necessary. This lesson and the follow-on assessment will each take about one hour to complete. Students only need pen/pencil and paper to complete the activities in the lesson, although an optional activity where students make their own sailboats would require additional materials. The classroom activity challenges are centered around small-group discussions based on the questions posed before each break. Free body diagrams, or another conceptual representation of his or her answer, should support each student’s solution to the questions posed in the video. Instructions for the option of having students design their own sailboats as part of this lesson can be found here: https://tryengineering.org/teacher/sail-away/

Evercookie is a Javascript API that produces extremely persistent cookies in a browser. Its goal is to identify a client even after they've removed standard cookies, Flash cookies (Local Shared Objects or LSOs), and others. This is accomplished by storing the cookie data as many browser storage mechanisms as possible. If cookie data is removed from any of the storage mechanisms, evercookie aggressively re-creates it in each mechanism as long as one is still intact.

Many of our GeoIP database products are offered in a CSV format, in addition to our binary format. The primary use case for these CSV files is to import them into a SQL database or other data store. This documentation details the contents of every CSV database. Some of our CSV files are shipped as zipped archives. Others are gzipped. In some cases, we offer a zip archive with multiple CSV files. The primary file will contain IDs referring to rows in other files. Each of these files can be imported directly into different database tables, and the referencing IDs will function as foreign keys.
