When setting up the NAS, you need to enter in a server name. This becomes the hostname. How can I set a FQDN (i.e. NAS-Store.example.com) without it being wiped out all the time? You can just setup a ddns name and use it to get access (I'm guessing you wanna use that name to gain outside access to your NAS). There is a DDNS tab in Control Panel > External Access. Register your name there. I don't need to worry about DDNS. That is not an issue. As I run an internal DNS on my network, I can type in the FQDN of the NAS and get to it OK. That's all fine. I would just like to be able to give the NAS an FQDN and an SSL certificate to match it, so I do not get any warnings that the cert is incorrect for the NAS when I have external clients use the Cloud Station. I don´t you buy a domain name, setup it up by using DynDns client and give the domain name to your clients to connect to, and then set your internal DNS with that same domain name to point to the internal IP, and also set the name of the NAS with that domain name.

IP Geolocation and reverse IP geocoding technology on the web are about detecting requests coming from your visitors and locating them in the world, down to the city they are in, based on their IP address. geoPlugin is the easiest way for you to geolocate your visitors, allowing you to provide geolocalised content more relevant to their geographical location. Simple examples are redirecting visitors to language-specific pages, providing your product prices in your visitor's local currency, knowing whether European GDPR privacy rules apply, and much more. We have been providing stable, reliable, fast and free IP geolocation coming from many millions of visitors for our many thousands of clients worldwide since 2006 (and our website hasn't changed in design since!).

hping is a command-line oriented TCP/IP packet assembler/analyzer. The interface is inspired to the ping(8) unix command, but hping isn't only able to send ICMP echo requests. It supports TCP, UDP, ICMP and RAW-IP protocols, has a traceroute mode, the ability to send files between a covered channel, and many other features. While hping was mainly used as a security tool in the past, it can be used in many ways by people that don't care about security to test networks and hosts.

iPerf3 is a tool for active measurements of the maximum achievable bandwidth on IP networks. It supports tuning of various parameters related to timing, buffers and protocols (TCP, UDP, SCTP with IPv4 and IPv6). For each test it reports the bandwidth, loss, and other parameters. This is a new implementation that shares no code with the original iPerf and also is not backwards compatible. iPerf was orginally developed by NLANR/DAST. iPerf3 is principally developed by ESnet / Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. It is released under a three-clause BSD license.

Welcome to IP Location, the home of IP Geolocation and IP Resources. This website was built to offer tips, tutorials and articles on IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and how it relates to TCP/IP and Internet. HTTP is the protocol used to transfer data between the web server and browsers. When a browser requests a HTML document from a web server, the browser send an URL (web address) with a request header. The server respond to a browser by providing a HTTP response header and the requested document (if exists). This tool extracts the HTTP server response headers, and displays them to you.

YouGetSignal.com is a collection of network tools that I started working on in late September of 2007. The name of the site, YouGetSignal, is a nerdy play on a line of broken English from the infamous "All your base are belong to us" cut scene. YouGetSignal originally started as an effort of mine to learn the latest web development techniques. Consequently, the site employs several technologies to function.

Some our codecs have same problem. They recieve outbound calls from numbers "100" and "101". And if look clother this calls cominf from the same white IP address as address of codecs. So it means codecs calls by itself. And this call repeats too often last time(approximetly 30 times per day)

We have developed an SPI iptables firewall that is comprehensive, straight-forward, easy and flexible to configure To complement the ConfigServer Firewall (csf), we have developed a Login Failure Daemon (lfd) process that runs all the time and periodically (every X seconds) scans the latest log file entries for login attempts against your server that continually fail within a short period of time. Such attempts are often called "Brute-force attacks" and the daemon process responds very quickly to such patterns and blocks offending IP's quickly. Other similar products run every x minutes via cron and as such often miss break-in attempts until after they've finished, our daemon eliminates such long waits and makes it much more effective at performing its task.

/etc/hosts is a plain text file that associates IP addresses with host names and which is accessed by all commands that use the network in the absence of a name server. An IP address is a unique numeric identifier for a host (i.e., computer or other device) on the Internet or other TCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol) network. A name server is a server (i.e., a specialized computer or software) that converts human-readable host names into numeric IP addresses.

Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy to configure, DNS forwarder and DHCP server. It is designed to provide DNS and optionally, DHCP, to a small network. It can serve the names of local machines which are not in the global DNS. The DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows machines with DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in the DNS with names configured either in each host or in a central configuration file. Dnsmasq supports static and dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP/TFTP for network booting of diskless machines.

Before we get into setting up Linux networking on a Debian system, we'll cover the basics of how to set up a network with both Windows and Linux systems and how to make it a "private" network. Here the term "private" may not mean what you think it does. It has to do with the IP addresses you use on your home or business network. You'll then understand the value of having a broadband router (for home networks), proxy/NAT server, or a firewall system which also performs the proxy/NAT function on your network.

Before you edit any files, you'll need to obtain some information. Log into the Linode Manager and click the "Remote Access" tab. You'll find your IP addresses (both public and private, if you have a private IP assigned), gateways, netmasks and DNS resolvers. Keep this information handy, because you'll need to refer to it as you configure your Linode's network settings. Since Linodes only have one virtual ethernet interface (eth0), you'll need to assign additional IPs to aliases on that interface. This means you'll append a colon and a number to the interface name. For these examples, the aliases are numbered in the order they were given, but most outbound connections will originate from the IP assigned to the eth0 interface. If you need server daemons to bind to a particular IP address, you'll need to specify the correct IP in their configuration files.

To configure a DHCP server, you must create the dhcpd.conf configuration file in the /etc/ directory. A sample file can be found at /usr/share/doc/dhcp-<version>/dhcpd.conf.sample. DHCP also uses the file /var/lib/dhcpd/dhcpd.leases to store the client lease database. Refer to Section 20.2.2, “Lease Database” for more information.

DDOS, short for Distributed Denial of Service, is a type of DOS attack where multiple compromised systems -- which are usually infected with a Trojan -- are used to target a single system causing a Denial of Service (DoS) attack. Victims of a DDoS attack consist of both the end targeted system and all systems maliciously used and controlled by the hacker in the distributed attack. According to this report on eSecurityPlanet, in a DDoS attack, the incoming traffic flooding the victim originates from many different sources – potentially hundreds of thousands or more. This effectively makes it impossible to stop the attack simply by blocking a single IP address; plus, it is very difficult to distinguish legitimate user traffic from attack traffic when spread across so many points of origin.

Many of our GeoIP database products are offered in a CSV format, in addition to our binary format. The primary use case for these CSV files is to import them into a SQL database or other data store. This documentation details the contents of every CSV database. Some of our CSV files are shipped as zipped archives. Others are gzipped. In some cases, we offer a zip archive with multiple CSV files. The primary file will contain IDs referring to rows in other files. Each of these files can be imported directly into different database tables, and the referencing IDs will function as foreign keys.

It’s tempting to store IP addresses in a database as a VARCHAR(15) in the absence of a dedicated IP address field type in mysql, but that isn’t the most efficient way of doing so. The best way that I’ve come across to store an IPv4 address is to store it as an unsigned integer. In phpmyadmin you might set up an ip address field
