Why are Poseidon regs not DIR?

https://www.yorkshire-divers.com/threads/why-are-poseidon-regs-not-dir.34863/

Saved by uncleflo on September 4th, 2022.

I understand the standardisation issues of DIR (I think) but DIR doesn't prescribe which reg you MUST have does it? Are Poseidons non DIR because GI3 had a spat with Poseidon (eg they wouldn't give him kit for an expidition) or is there a technical reason why GI3 considers them to be unsafe. And if the latter, why does the rest of the divng industry not also think they are unsafe? Or is it just plain old predudice against something diffrent?

No Fly Drones

https://www.noflydrones.co.uk/

Saved by uncleflo on February 12th, 2022.

Ever asked yourself "Where can't I fly my drone in the UK?" or "What does a Flight Restriction Zone mean?" NoFlyDrones.co.uk can help. Your free, easy to use tool showing no fly zones in the UK. We use the rules and regulations of the UK Air Navigation Order (CAP393) to present a simple graphical tool to aid safe flight planning for hobbyists and professional drone operators alike. Danger Areas are areas of military airspace often used for activities such as fighter pilot training, live ammunition training or weapons and systems testing (including GPS jamming exercises). The official definition is “An airspace of defined dimensions within which activities dangerous to the flight of aircraft may exist at specified time”. HIRTA’s are High Intensity Radio Transmission Areas and flying through these areas could interfere with the electronics on board your drone. Prohibited Areas are areas of airspace which for one reason or another have been prohibited from having aircraft enter them. The official definition is “An airspace of defined dimensions above the land areas or territorial waters of a State within which the flight of aircraft is prohibited” You will have to investigate the NATS AIP for more information about why the area is prohibited.

Seen Jeremy's williams jetrib guide and after 4 seasons of sorting out a now 20yo Avon jetrib, I decided to write down a maintenance to do (and how to) list of issues I had to address to keep a well maintained 20yo seawater jetrib in reasonable and reliable condition. Any corrections, additions, comments welcomed! First of all, a couple of links that will help identify parts or understand how the thing works! Github - yui / yuicompressor - YUI Compressor - The Yahoo! JavaScript and CSS Compressor

https://github.com/yui/yuicompressor/tree/master/src/org/mozilla/javascript

Saved by uncleflo on June 1st, 2018.

The YUI Compressor is a JavaScript compressor which, in addition to removing comments and white-spaces, obfuscates local variables using the smallest possible variable name. This obfuscation is safe, even when using constructs such as 'eval' or 'with' (although the compression is not optimal in those cases) Compared to jsmin, the average savings is around 20%. The YUI Compressor is also able to safely compress CSS files. The decision on which compressor is being used is made on the file extension (js or css)

Full Stack Basics for the Non-Developer

http://www.metaltoad.com/full-stack-part-1

Saved by uncleflo on October 21st, 2016.

Let's visualize and talk about the "full stack" of web development. From a developer's standpoint, we're probably talking about the layers of code involved in delivering a website to an end user. But let's back up further for a moment and just talk about a stack of things. Given all the different device, language, and application options out there, many stacks of things in this case! There's the stacks involved for phone application development, stacks for websites, stacks for console gaming, and more! To avoid head explosions to the extent possible possible, I'm going to focus on Metal Toad's most common stack.

["WAIT LIST"] BFL SC Pre-Order Information

We've been working on getting the software and firmware nailed down. Things are mostly stabilized at this point and with our current boards (we do not have the redesigned boards in house yet), power usage exceeds the 1w/GH, unfortunately, but it's much better than anything out by 40 - 50%, at the wall. We are gearing up to start shipping out some dev boards and a few Jalapeno's most likely this week (at least a few dev boards) and then as more chips roll in we'll be shipping out the Jalapeno's. When the new boards land in KC, we'll start shipping Little Singles and Singles at that time. I don't currently have a time frame for those, but I should have something later this week in regards to that.
