Once diving becomes a serious hobby, you might be interested in buying your own compressor for filling your tanks. There is nothing wrong with dive shops, but there’s nothing like being able to fill up your tank wherever you are. Since the air in your tank is a matter of life or death, the air compressor for your scuba tank needs to provide you with clean pressurized air. When you choose a scuba air tank compressor, it needs to be specifically made for diving. Unless the compressor delivers clean breathing air at high pressures, you risk injury or death when you dive. This guide will help you understand how a compressor works, what makes a scuba air compressor different from a normal one, and what to look for when buying one. Many companies build compressors, but only a few manufacture breathing air compressors for scuba diving. We recommend the following

Many homes and small workshops have single stage compressors capable of producing 7bar/100psi pressure for powering hand tools and filling truck tires. These simple compressors use the most basic engineering techniques and are successfully mass produced out in the Far East as a low cost consumer product. It comes as quite a surprise when a dive operation comes to purchase their first high pressure divers breathing air compressor to be met with a price tag approaching that of a family car, and the use of which is surrounded by a pile of legal regulations and maintenance obligations, and competent operator requirements which if not met, will cause several well known phenomena.

High Density Polyurethane Antimicrobial Foam is the best choice when you need a high-quality, long-lasting and dependable foam ideal for heavy-use applications. Its density means it will provide excellent support while still delivering on comfort, making it ideal for high-traffic seating cushions (such as couches and sofas), benches, cabin seating and sleeping berths, automotive seating and certain outdoor cushions. Its antimicrobial properties help prevent the growth of mold and mildew. For outdoor use, Antimicrobial High Density foam can be used, and silk film should be wrapped around the foam to help keep moisture out. Also use an upholstery fabric that has high water resistance or can be treated with a waterproofing solution.

What is the best video codec for game recording, video recording, and screen recording? If you use a high-compression codec, you can get a small video file, but the encoding speed might be slower. If you use a high-quality codec, you can get the best quality video, but the video file size might be larger. If you use a high-speed codec, you can reduce CPU usage, but the video file size might be larger. So, you have to choose the best video codec by yourself to meet your recording needs.

Here, I’m taking a look at various RF settings in Handbrake, both in terms of visuals and filesize. I started with encodes from the “24” DVD (Season 6, Episode 1). If you have the same DVD and are looking to reproduce this test, the following settings were used: I tested the following RF values (listed in Handbrake under “Constant Quality”: 0, 10, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 I’ll start with a few screenshots at different RF values. There’s a video below too, but it comes with a bit of a caveat so might not show everything well for you. Pictures should work for nearly everyone. Note that the first one (RF0) is for reference (lossless). Worth noting that x264’s psychovisual enhancements (trellis, etc) do a pretty good job of keeping detail where you’d notice it (the face), at the expense of the stuff you normally wouldn’t notice while watching (like those background areas). Of course, this only goes so far – once the RF value is high enough, there’s no saving Jack’s facial features from the effects of compression!

Youtube video quality and bitrate… What kind of compression does YouTube use? Every time we post a video on Youtube will ALWAYS recompressed. Youtube DO NOT leaves intact the video posted. YouTube, and a few of the other video services, also automatically deliver different video codecs to different platforms like iOS or Windows. Youtube recommends sending videos with high bitrates but after several tests I have verified that it does not change the quality beyond a certain bitrate, it is more important the quality of the source of acquisition rather than the bitrate. How much does Youtube compress video sent? How much the bitrate is allocated to video based on resolutions, youtube will assign a different bitrate to each resolution, and use 2 types of CODEC (H264 and VP9)

The YUI Compressor is a JavaScript compressor which, in addition to removing comments and white-spaces, obfuscates local variables using the smallest possible variable name. This obfuscation is safe, even when using constructs such as 'eval' or 'with' (although the compression is not optimal in those cases) Compared to jsmin, the average savings is around 20%. The YUI Compressor is also able to safely compress CSS files. The decision on which compressor is being used is made on the file extension (js or css)

CSSO (CSS Optimizer) is a CSS minifier. It performs three sort of transformations: cleaning (removing redundant), compression (replacement for shorter form) and restructuring (merge of declarations, rulesets and so on). As a result your CSS becomes much smaller.

A very useful, brief and summarizing lookup website. Data compression has been extremely useful to us over the years. Whether its a zip file containing images to be sent in a mail or a compressed data backup stored on a server, we use data compression to save valuable hard drive space or to make the downloading of files easier. There are compression formats out there which allow us to sometimes compress our data by 60% or more. I’ll run you through using some of these formats to compress and decompress files and directories on a Linux machine. We’ll cover the basic usage of zip, tar, tar.gz and the tar.bz2 formats. These are some of the most popular formats for compression used on Linux machines.

XRegExp is an open source (MIT License) JavaScript library that provides augmented and extensible regular expressions. You get new syntax, flags, and methods beyond what browsers support natively. XRegExp is also a regex utility belt with tools to make your client-side grepping simpler and more powerful, while freeing you from worrying about pesky cross-browser inconsistencies and the dubious lastIndex property.

JSCompress.com is an online javascript compressor that allows you to compress and minify your javascript files. Compressed javascript files are ideal for production environments since they typically reduce the size of the file by 30-90%. Most of the filesize reduction is achieved by removing comments and extra whitespace characters that are not needed by web browsers or visitors.

The DOE Hydrogen Program conducted a technical assessment of cryo-compressed hydrogen storage for vehicular applications during 2006-2008, consistent with the Program’s Multiyear Research, Development and Demonstration Plan. The term “cryo-compressed” was coined by Salvador Aceves, etal at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and refers to their concept of storing hydrogen at cryogenic temperatures but within a pressure capable vessel, in contrast to current liquid (or cryogenic) vessels which store hydrogen at low pressures. Cryo compressed hydrogen storage can include liquid hydrogen or cold compressed hydrogen. This assessment was based primarily on LLNL’s design and fabrication of a cryogenic capable insulated pressure vessel (up to 350 bar) for on-board hydrogen storage applications. The assessment included an independent review of the technical performance by Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), an independent cost analysis by TIAX LLC.

Air-augmented rockets (also known as rocket-ejector, ramrocket, ducted rocket, integral rocket/ramjets, or ejector ramjets) use the supersonic exhaust of some kind of rocket engine to further compress air collected by ram effect during flight to use as additional working mass, leading to greater effective thrust for any given amount of fuel than either the rocket or a ramjet alone. It represents a hybrid class of rocket/ramjet engines, similar to a ramjet, but able to give useful thrust from zero speed, and is also able in some cases to operate outside the atmosphere, with fuel efficiency not worse than both a comparable ramjet or rocket at every point.
