To assist the safe passage of small craft to and from Portsmouth Harbour a Small Boat Channel for vessels less than 20m in length including Personal Watercraft (PWC) has been created on the western side of the harbour entrance. The 50 metre wide Small Boat Channel is shown on Admiralty charts 2625 and 2631. Its northern and southern extremities are at Ballast Pile (50 47.62N 001 06.83W) and No 4 Bar Buoy (50 46.97N 001 06.48W) respectively. Small boats are reminded that they can be difficult to see and the harbour entrance is a blind bend to larger vessels and traffic leaving the camber. Vessels approaching or departing the small boat channel to the south, should follow the line of the port lateral boys to avoid grounding on the South-East corner of Hamilton bank. The following vessels under 20m in length are authorised to use the main channel and loiter in the Small Boat Channel when their duties require; pilot boats, police launches, QHM Harbour Patrol launches, Border Force craft, Royal Naval vessels, lifeboats, senior officers’ boats flying official flags or discs and tugs engaged in towing operations or escorting a vessel. Small boats may continue to use the Small Boat Channel when the main channel is closed for the passage of a large vessel other than a Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carrier. The Small Boat Channel will be shut to all traffic during QEC transits.

China’s Uighur minority live a dystopian nightmare of constant surveillance and brutal policing. At least one million of them are believed to be living in what the U.N. described as a “massive internment camp that is shrouded in secrecy,” while many Uighur children are taken to state-run orphanages where they're indoctrinated into Chinese customs. The Uighurs' plight has largely been kept hidden from the world, thanks to China’s aggressive attempts to suppress the story at all costs. VICE News’ Isobel Yeung posed as a tourist to gain unprecedented access to China’s western Xinjiang region, which has been nearly unreachable by journalists. She and our crew experienced China’s Orwellian surveillance and harassment first-hand during their time in Xinjiang, and captured chilling hidden-camera footage of eight Uighur men detained by police in the middle of the night. We spoke with members of the Uighur community about their experience in these camps, and about China’s attempts to silence their history and lifestyle under the cover of darkness.

Magistrates' courts could grind to a halt if thousands of motorists exploit a legal loophole unwittingly exposed by a Welsh driver. Magistrates had no choice but to find Phillip Dennis, of Whitford, Flintshire, not guilty of speeding when his case was heard on Thursday. He had omitted to sign the standard form which is sent to the owner of each vehicle caught by a speed camera - and Mold magistrates said they couldn't accept the form as evidence. Police have no power to compel car owners to sign the form and have been expecting someone to spot the loophole.

This website gathers statistics from Police forces across the UK (excluding scotland), I then use this data to display maps and other statistics in an effort to shame police forces into taking action. I had my own bike stolen in Feburary 2012, since then I've aimed all my web developing skills at combating the problem and hopefully hitting whoever stole my bike where it hurts (in the pocket). No neither the police or government have officially supported this website, nor do we get any funding from them. Of course we do, without these we simply couldn't keep the servers running. We do have one condition it has to be relevent to our audience, still interested drop us an email on the address below.

Spylamp is a covert tracking device that is hidden inside a bicycle rear light. The rear light appears and functions as normal to avoid suspicion but inside it houses a complete GPS tracking device. Hold the on/off button down for 3 seconds and your trackers vibration sensor will activate. Any subsequent movement of your bicycle will mean you get an instant SMS message and the tracking function will activate so you can see where your bicycle was taken

Seized goods, worth millions of pounds, are auctioned every year at police auctions, government auctions and bailiff auctions. Most people don't know where or when these auctions are taking place. However, the amount of stuff that gets sold at these auctions is amazing. And its cheap!

An off-duty police officer named Angel leaped off a subway platform Friday in Madrid, Spain, and dragged a fallen man off the tracks just as a train arrived. The officer said on the Spanish National Police YouTube channel that he had been standing on the platform with his girlfriend when people started shouting. "I observed a stir at the station, and then I saw the man who had fallen on the tracks," he said while calmly narrating a video of the dramatic rescue. "I ran out, I took off my jacket, and I threw myself onto the tracks. At the same time I had to maintain my awareness of the train that was approaching because it was just about to arrive."
