Kinoko's Hip Harness

https://shibaristudy.com/programs/kinokos-hip-harness

Saved by uncleflo on April 25th, 2026.

In this class, Hajime Kinoko teaches his Hip Harness for suspension with his model Maya Homerton. Function meets form in this intermediate level harness. Kinoko’s hip harness is designed in such a way that it enables comfortable suspensions for every body types without demanding a high level of flexibility. It offers sturdy hip support and reduces waist load (as opposed to Gorgone’s hip-harness designed for models with more back flexibility and who enjoy waist load), making it ideal if you’re looking to take some pressure off the lower back in bridge positions. This versatile tie is ideal for inversions and bridges and is solid enough to sustain dynamic transitions and self-suspensions. Further information regarding the suspension line: Kinoko's suspension line method for this tie is very simplified to allow the rigger to attach it easily and quickly during transition work (e.g. while the model is in a face-down and needs support quickly) and prioritizes efficiency over symmetry and balance. If you prefer, you can also use a normal Epsilon instead of the anchoring demonstrated in this tutorial.

Geothermal pile foundations - Designing Buildings Wiki

https://www.designingbuildings.co.uk/wiki/Geothermal_pile_foundations

Saved by uncleflo on December 18th, 2019.

Geothermal energy is the second most abundant source of heat on earth, after solar energy. It is the natural heat energy stored in the earth. This energy is contained in about 260 billion cubic metres of rocks and metallic alloys, just below the outer surface of the earth, that are at or near their melting points (Lanterman & Lee, 2007). Calculations show that the Earth, originating from a completely molten state, would have cooled and become completely solid if the only energy input was that of the Sun, so it is believed that the ultimate source of geothermal energy is the decay of naturally radioactive isotopes (Dincer et al., 2007). The thermal energy from the earth continuously flows outwards. This heat transfer from the core to the surrounding mantle is principally via conduction. When the temperature and pressure of the system becomes high enough, some of the rocks that make up the mantle melt and form magma. As the liquid magma is less dense than surrounding rocks, it slowly rises, convecting thermal heat towards the earth’s crust (Lanterman & Lee, 2007).

Crocker's Folly - Since 1898

http://www.crockersfolly.com/

Saved by uncleflo on January 6th, 2019.

The hotel changed its name to Crocker’s Folly in 1987. In 2004, the pub was placed on the English Heritage Buildings ‘At Risk’ Register and the future looked bleak until it was purchased once again, by The Maroush Group. 'Now we’re proud to show off the Victorian design in our beautiful, Grade II listed building'. Our special saloon bar still features the same 50 kinds of marble, plus Romanesque columns and carved mahogany. The Lord's Room (or dining area) even has the original high ceilings, grand fireplace and spectacular crystal chandelier! We can't wait for you see the way this space has been transformed into the Crocker’s Folly we love today! We’re sure Frank Crocker would be proud.

MySQL EXPLAIN Output Format

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/explain-output.html

Saved by uncleflo on April 18th, 2018.

The EXPLAIN statement provides information about how MySQL executes statements. EXPLAIN works with SELECT, DELETE, INSERT, REPLACE, and UPDATE statements. EXPLAIN returns a row of information for each table used in the SELECT statement. It lists the tables in the output in the order that MySQL would read them while processing the statement. MySQL resolves all joins using a nested-loop join method. This means that MySQL reads a row from the first table, and then finds a matching row in the second table, the third table, and so on. When all tables are processed, MySQL outputs the selected columns and backtracks through the table list until a table is found for which there are more matching rows. The next row is read from this table and the process continues with the next table.

Column Header Rotation in CSS

Saved by uncleflo on February 22nd, 2015.

Last month, D-Sight Web was updated with a pretty awaited feature: spitting the work between experts when evaluating alternatives and defining preferences in a decision process. In other words and without going into too much details (for that, read the release announcement), this typically allows for a technical expert to only provide input for technical criteria and for a legal expert to focus on legal criteria – for instance.

Now consider the case of compressive loads and the instability they can cause. Consider only static instabilities (static loading as opposed to dynamic loading [e.g., flutter]) "A system becomes unstable when a negative stiffness overcomes the natural stiffness of the structure." This is a stupidly simple, absurdly lightweight jQuery table sorting plugin. As long as you understand basic JavaScript sorting, you can make this plugin do as much or as little as you want. Here's an example. Click a header to sort the table by that column.

Ask Tom: On ROWNUM and Limiting Results

Saved by uncleflo on March 27th, 2013.

This issue's Ask Tom column is a little different from the typical column. I receive many questions about how to perform top- N and pagination queries in Oracle Database, so I decided to provide an excerpt from the book Effective Oracle by Design (Oracle Press, 2003) in hopes of answering a lot of these questions with this one column. Note that the content here has been modified from the original to fit the space and format.
